Television is officially dead and buried, well it's been dead for a few years now. Great quality shows such as Smallville, Battlestar Galactica and House are overshadowed by the trainwreck shows such as American Idol, Rock of Love and every freaking reality show out there. Now I am a huge fan of the CW show Smallville because being a fan of Superman since I was a small child I love the new spin on the character. It is very well written and they introduce all of the DC Universe characters (with the exception of Batman and Wonder Woman).
I love the new spin on all of the DC characters and I understand why they did not put Bruce Wayne (Batman) into the show itself (Character issues because of Christopher Nolan's Batman movies.) Now when I was a kid I didnt watch much sci-fi television shows, the ones I did watch though were Battlestar Galactica (the original), Buck Rogers, Doctor Who (The Tom Baker Years) and old episodes of the classic Star Trek.
I am very disappointed that the new Battlestar Galactica barely had a chance to show itself properly before it was canceled. I really liked the show and I thought it was fresh and exciting. The same goes for Star Trek: Enterprise, that show had so much potential but people looked past it because they were caught up like lemmings when American Idol or Survivor decided to air.
As you can tell I HATE most of reality tv, there are a few exceptions but not many. But the one I hate the most as I flip the channels on Sunday nights make me wanna vomit...Rock of Love with Bret “I am a lame, old attention whore” Michaels. He was once a great heavy metal singer with Poison but he fell in line with a aging rapper who could barely rap and was only famous for wearing a big clock around his neck and yelling “Yeah Boy!” at the top of his lungs and a reject whore from one of the unnamed rapper's dating shows.
I have watched a few episodes of that excrement of a show and I have to admit I don't think Bret Michaels really wants to find true love he uses the show to promote himself. It is sad to think a once great rock star has to stoop to having his own faux dating show just to promote his album and the fact that he still tours the country. It makes me sad to think of a man who I grew up listening to is now just a old lame sellout that deserves no kind of happiness. I hate to be so harsh but he is committing career suicide and the only fans he has left are women who wanna have sex with him and the guys that do attend his shows I guess are hoping against all hope he performs an old Poison song they like. Well my rant is done if you read this thanks for indulging me.
