My mom has asked the family to help her decide where to scatter my brother's ashes. So far, the options have been narrowed down to scattering them in the middle of Puget Sound or the ravine where we played as kids.
If we choose the Sound, we would have to ask the WA State Ferry Service permission to do this. They've been known to sound their horn and stop for a minute or two in the middle of their route so the ashes can be scattered (this would be done in the afternoon so as not to disrupt the morning commute). My bother liked riding on the ferries, enjoying the scenery and 'hitting on' the pretty girls (LOL).
If we choose the ravine, we would have to go to the city and/or the county for permission (and possibly a permit). The ravine is an undeveloped boggy area where we hunted frogs, snakes, tadpoles, played hide and seek, had mock swork fights with fern roots, picked (and ate)blackberries and wild strawberries and generally running amok. It was his favorite place as a kid.
I really like both ideas and can't make up my mind. So...
