Did you know that one of the biggest mistakes of personal web page design is to add music or a video? Ask yourself: What are my website visitors looking for? What questions do they have? This focuses on people getting to know you a little and possibly becoming a friend. Thats why you have the website in the first place, right?
It's not that multi-media on a web page is bad, but are you a band? Did you write or play the song you are so blatantly overpowering the rest of your page with? No? Then why is it there? If you want to do it and do it right, dont have it play as soon as someone visits the web page. Give users the choice to watch or listen to your content. Some people have slow connections and all the clutter does nothing for them but make it impossible to load your page.
Just to give you an idea of how bad an idea adding that auto play music or video is, "biggest mistakes of personal web page design" yields 61,800,000 results of just how bad an idea that it is. Or hey! Be like everyone else and copy that bad idea and put it on your page just like everyone else does. |
