Here's the deal;
A couple of years ago for secret santa, a member of staff (now our head of department) received a very unwelcome (in his eyes) gift, an owl doorstop.
Last year as a wind up, I bought him another animal doorstop, in the shape of a Robin. He was annoyed but took it in good humour.
I wasn't going to do it this year but ended up getting the perfect opportunity and couldn't pass it up, so he will be receiving one in the shape of a hedgehog during a faculty meeting next week.
He has threatened to kick us all in the you know wheres if he gets one, so to lessen the impact I've bought him an actual present.
Now, my question is, do I give him this as a show of thanks for his stellar work in front of the rest of the staff after the hedgehog? Or later on in my office when he comes to hunt us down? |
