Fubar Fakes

I have noticed that people who were banned, keep trying to sneak back on to Fubar. They are usually easy to spot, since they do things that typical noobs would not know how to do. They also do not announce that they are back, and deny that they have been on Fubar before. There is a reason they were banned in the first place, and should remain that way. If spotted soon enough, it saves a lot of people from being scammed, conned, catfished, or defrauded.

The typical fake profile will not have a salute, but will level rapidly. They will also run powerups like a veteran user, and offer buy ins, even though noobs don't have the first clue about buy ins. Some will offer pictures for coins or bling, funding their fubar existence, with no regard to others. Once those people realize that they were victimized, they are usually too embarrassed to say anything, and simply log off, never to be seen again. It is sad, because they would have probably continued to enjoy fubar, and helped others.

Another tell is the bling. These people will start to accumulate a lot of powerups, or limited edition blings, but there is no reciprocation. If the bling is not private, simply look to see if it was swapped. In most cases, it was not.

Buying into their famps, helps fund them until they get their hooks into some lesser known members. They use higher profile family members(red and yellow names)to validate themselves. It is used to distract from the lack of a verified salute photo, and draw lesser known members into their trap. Those are the most vulnerable, since they do not pay close attention.

If the fake is called out, they will claim to be real, and may even say that their salute was rejected. If this were the case, they would keep the rejected salute, so others could see, but not the fake. There was never a salute, and never will be.

They also burn through fu-marriages because they are trying to trade up. When the current fu-hubby is no longer useful, he is disposed of, and replaced by a new one. Once a more useful option comes into the picture, fu-hubby number 2 is replaced. These disposable fu-hubbies seem to disappear for good. They either turn white, or delete completely. This is part of their body count. Another form of body count is the bling sugar daddy. He funds the fake, until he realizes that she is not real, and never was. Then he drops off, never to be seen again.

Gem Girl repeated this cycle multiple times, but she had help. Most of that help were also victims, as they had no idea what she was up to. She used them to validate herself. On the other hand, she had multiple accomplices, who should have been banned with her. Her body count was prolific. Before her page was deleted, you could see it in the high value blings, and the wedding rings. She has made multiple attempts to return, and will continue to do so.

Some of these fakes will make their way into family swaps. It may even involve replacing a long time family member. Whatever ill gotten gains may be received, they are not worth the betrayal of that friendship. Keep in mind, some reading this, had a swap with Gem Girl. Others benefitted, but not from her. They benefitted from her destroying other, lesser known members. All the while, she had help from a few willing participants. The best advice is to look into people, before replacing a family member.

Fake profiles are the equivalent of serial killers on Fubar. Only one or two will be caught, but many more are active, and piling up a body count. That body count may never even be noticed. Think about the ones you are closest to. What if they had been part of that body count? What if they left due to embarrassment, or shame? Hopefully a sobering thought. In closing, it falls on all of us to report suspicious profiles. Fubar will look into it, and if necessary, the page will be removed.
