Today’s news is fantastic. Internet Radio will NOT go off the air!
This is thanks to you great people. You voiced your opinion to Congress. The email's flooded their servers, and phones rang off the hook.
They realized that there is a serious problem with the recent CRD ruling, and under pressure from you, acted. A meeting between Webcasters and Sound Exchange was called today by Rep. Ed Markey of "The House Commerce Committee" and were told to formulate a workable solution.
As it currently stands July 15th will NOT be the last day of Internet Radio, in fact we now have time to formulate a workable solution with Sound Exchange.
Keep in mind that there is NOTHING IN WRITING at this point so don't put those protest banners and emails away just yet. Until something concrete is established we are not totally out of the woods.
I would advise you to continue calling your representatives and emailing them expressing your opinion about the necessity of Internet Radio and the Diversity and exposure it brings to Listeners and Artists. Urge them to support "The Internet Radio Equality Act" H.R. 2060 or Senate version S. 1353
