I saw a status about binders on here, and it reminded me of the debate the other night, and what one of the canidates had said so I wanted to say a couple of things on the election in general. This is a critical election. The stakes are high. The country is still struggling to pull itself out of the worst economic crisis since the great depression. We are coming out of it, but just inching along really the recovery is too slow. This is when we should vote more than ever.
We have two men that are running for President with two very different views. Each one has such a different view on social issues, economic issues and world issues. Those of us living in battle ground states are being blasted with ads by each canidate. I live in Nevada , and these fuckers are here like once every other week. I speak to people all the time, and many are dis-heartened and dont want to vote as they dont believe their vote counts etc. I understand all of that. I really do, but once again I must pleade with all of you to go vote on Nov 6th. Don't take this right for granted. There is sooo much at stake.
Do you realize that things like Planned Parent Hood are on the line this year? Contraception, birth control, and mammograms could be de-funded if one of them is elected? Gone! Just like that! Do any of you women out there not have insurance and use Planned Parent Hood for your exams? Are any of you on food stamps, and not cuz u want to be , but because u dont have a choice? The funding to the states for all of these things will decrease if one of them get's in. Do you know anyone on social security or on medicare? Not that those would be gone, but if u are in my age brackett I am 42 it could look way different when it comes time to collect mine. Do you believe in a Woman's right to choose what she does with her body? The next President will appoint possibly two Supreme Court Justices. The balance of Roe V. Wade is hanging right there. I am Pro-Life yet Pro-Choice as I will not push my beliefs on any woman. That is up to her and her alone. We all will meet our maker so why should I judge?
Yes, I support President Obama, and I will be there on November 6th casting my vote for him. I believe in his vision. I did then, and I do now. I pay attention, and have paid attention for sometime now. I know what Willard is offering I have seen it twice in my life time. I have watched Willard say one thing and then say the opposite, and then go back to what he originally said, and that is un-deniable if you support him well that's great and please make sure u vote for him, but u cant dispute his flip flops. This is a man that set-up universal health care in Mass yet wants to re-peal Obama care. Obama cares core principals are based on his plan. WTF? Willard is a man that has dreamed of being President his whole life, and will say anything to become exactly that. I watched him in both debates say the exact opposite of what he said when he got his party's nomination. I saw it no one showed me like I said I pay attention.
The point really is to go vote! Just vote! It is your right so exercise it. Even if it is for Willard. Just know that if your a woman you will all be in his binders. Dont just vote on party lines though make sure you are informed. Look at their records, and please look at everything they have said. God sakes dont vote against your-self just cuz ur pissed cuz the one that is in office has not been able to deliver on every single promise. Please vote!! Your country, your right!! Dont forget the men and women that sacrificed their lives, their blood for all of us to have this right. Use it dont lose it!
p.s. I know some of you support Willard and that is great! But if you leave a comment about the President. Please address him as such nothing drives me more crazy than when someone calls him obama trying to be-little him. Whether you support him or not he is the President, and our first African American one, and that in itself is one hell of an accomplishment. My blog my rules. Now get off ur ass and VOTE!!
