| I had accepted a position with this large firm, and the first week was training. The Trainer stressed that they wanted things down their way leaving no room for freelance or creativity. Everything was scripted. He kept saying "We want you to drink the cool aid". Now the Reverand Jim Jones wanted his flock to drink the cool aid, and this was how he killed them. I found the phrase to be offensive and insulting, and the company to one of unthinking robot clones. Finally the last time I heard him say it. I stood up told him that would not drink the coolaid, and that i quit. Was I wrong? Should everyone have to drink the coolaid or was I right to leave for more creative opportunities? |
