Ok, we have now had 3 boy dogs, since my husband and I started living together (still have 2 of them), but they seem impossible to train. The concept of getting on a leash seems like they are being tortered. And they can't even seem to manage to pee on Pee pads. Which seems pretty simple considering they don't even have to leave the room. They chew up anything they can get their hands on. And we already have 3 spots, that I know of on our carpet which is going to make us pay out a few hundred to replace, since they have actually pulled the yarn out of the floor (it looks like we shaved the carpet!)
Prior to living with him, I had primarily had female pets. My dog Trixie is the sweetest most loving little dog (she now lives with my parents), and was super easy to train. Before that, I had a Shelty named Maddie. She was so smart, she obeyed without fail, and again, was a breeze to train.
So for future animals in our house, I need help convincing my husband. While I know there are exceptions to every rule... is it really easier to train female dogs, or have I just had bad luck with males? |
