My opinion about Iraq

Ok. So far I have been nice about things but now I have some one who wants to post crap on my page claiming to know more about what I do than I do and more about me. Well I hate to tell him but he is a moron. As my profile states I am 34 yrs old and am currently on my 2nd tour in Iraq. This tour will be ending here very shortly. I have been here for 15 months this time and have lost several friends to include 2 from my platoon. As my pictures show I am a mechanic and wrecker operator. Yes I have seen Iraq with my own eyes. I have more recovery missions than I remember. Yes I have pictures of most of them and no I do not share them. The pictures in my Fallen Heroes folder are the members of my unit that have given the ultimate sacrifice that people can speak their minds. I have been asked several times how I feel about the war so here is my answer to that. I am glad to be fighting here it saves us from fighting in our own country. For those who have forgotten yes Iraq has invaded other countries before, Kuwait still remembers 1990 when Iraq invaded. But the real reason we are here is because the United Nations can’t back their own resolutions. UN Resolution 687 stated “Iraq must "unconditionally accept" the destruction, removal or rendering harmless "under international supervision" of all "chemical and biological weapons and all stocks of agents and all related subsystems and components and all research, development, support and manufacturing facilities." • Iraq must "unconditionally agree not to acquire or develop nuclear weapons or nuclear-weapons-usable material" or any research, development or manufacturing facilities. • Iraq must "unconditionally accept" the destruction, removal or rendering harmless "under international supervision" of all "ballistic missiles with a range greater than 150 KM and related major parts and repair and production facilities." • Iraq must not "use, develop, construct or acquire" any weapons of mass destruction. • Iraq must reaffirm its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. • Creates the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) to verify the elimination of Iraq's chemical and biological weapons programs and mandated that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) verify elimination of Iraq's nuclear weapons program. • Iraq must declare fully its weapons of mass destruction programs. • Iraq must not commit or support terrorism, or allow terrorist organizations to operate in Iraq. • Iraq must cooperate in accounting for the missing and dead Kuwaitis and others. • Iraq must return Kuwaiti property seized during the Gulf War.” Yet for 12 years the world sat back while Iraq continually defied this resolution by refusing to allow weapons inspectors full access. Finally in March 2003 a couple of countries had had enough of this and put the teeth behind this Resolution. It is my personal opinion that we are here for the right reasons. We are not here for the oil, we are not here to occupy this country. We are here to try to give these people a decent life like what we are able to enjoy every day, that they do not have to live in fear that they may be tortured and executed at anytime. So if you don’t like my opinion that’s to bad you are entitled to your opinion but DON’T put your opinions on my page as I don’t put my opinions on your page. Thank you for your time reading this and I hope you have a great and fulfilling day.

american

To Kill an American You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American. So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is. So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!) "An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan. An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navajo, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.> An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses. An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God. An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.> The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness. An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return. When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country. As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan . Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least. The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America. Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists. So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself . Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American. Please keep this going! Pass this around the World! Then pass it around again. It says it all, for all of us Please do not just delete. Pass it on first. Thanks

guess one does

This was sent to me as an e-mail and thought it went along quite nicely with what I post yesterday for my blog. This woman should run for president Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady. "Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they? And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?..Well, I don't. I don't care at all. I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinera ting all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia . I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques. I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs. I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill o f Rights. In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care. When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care. And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care !! If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior! If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add: "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem." -- Ronald Reagan I have another quote that I would like to add AND.......I hope you forward all this. "If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under." Also by.. Ronald Reagan One last thought for the day: In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said: "A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ 2. The American G. I. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom. YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM. AMEN!
Ok I'm getting irritated by all the people out there who claim that they are in the know about Iraq. Most claim that we are here because our government lied to us. I guess 4 years clouds the memory pretty good. So here is a little refresher for all you out there who claim that you were lied to. The reason we are here is because of a U.N. mandate that Saddam had to allow weapons inspectors into all possible storage areas by a certain date. That date came a went without him allowing the inspectors in. Since the U.N. would not back up their own resolution it fell to the two countries that had dealt with Saddam invading allied nations in the past. Or did we forget about that part too? He had already proven his lack of willingness to to allow other countries to exist. So a few nations of the world decided it was time to put him in complete check. The reason we are still here is that once he fell from power the same people involved in 9/11 started recruiting for the local populations, hence Al-qaida in Iraq. Then on the other hand since we are not well liked by Iran you have a group that has close ties to them. So my question is do we pull out and let these two groups build up and attack us at home or do we stay and finish the fight? Hummmmmmmmmmm make you think don't it.
