This mum came to mind about 5:30 this morning when my son got up sick and running a temp.
Both of my kids are stubborn when they are sick. They will only eat if they think it will stay down and drink what they want no matter if it will stay down or not.
It made me think of when I was a kid and I got sick. No matter how I felt my mom always had the same routine of things to do to try and make me feel better. I bet many of you remember them and probably use them.
Eating jello just to put something on your stomach
Drinking Ginger Ale to calm an upset stomach...small sips mind you..lol
Plain toast and/or saltine crackers so that the jello would stay down later
Chicken soup to warm you inside out and chase away a cold
Stay in your bed it is better
Do any of you remember being pampered and at times smoothered by a loving mom when you were sick? Did your mom ever do anything that never worked, but you always endured just because?...lol |
