"Soldiers have many faults, but they have one redeeming merit; they are never worshippers of force. Soldiers more than any other men are taught severely and systematically that might is not right. The fact is obvious. The might is in the hundred men who obey. The right... is in the one man who commands them."
- Gilbert Chesterton ("Thoughts Around Koepenick")
Music
As far as music goes, I really listen to a bit of everything.
My mother took me to my first concert. It was 1984 American Rock Festival Timber Ridge Ski Resort Kalamazoo MI.
The bands that were playing were....
Ozzy Osborne....Bark at the Moon;
Motley Crue...Shout at the Devil;
Ratt...Out of the Cellar;
Quiet Riot...Mental Health;
along with Triumph, Accept, and Night Ranger
Later on in life I have had the privilege to see other concerts
Motley Crue again for (Theatre of Pain and Girls,Girls,Girls) Scorpions, ZZ Top, and Metallica at the Rosemont for their Black Album.
While stationed at Fort Bragg, NC between 1992 and 2001 I was able to see Chris LeDoux, Trace Atkins, Rhett Akins, Charlie Daniels, Brooks and Dunn (A few times), And my favorite.... George Strait's Country Music Fest with George, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, Lee Ann Womack and Asleep at the Wheel. If I think harder I know I could come up with a few more concerts but I think you get the point.
Idols
I enjoy reading Tom Clancey and Stephen King novels or anything else that catches my eye.
