UNION JACK--supporting the troops
@ CherryTAP...........................................................
In these past few days and in the weeks ahead,
much has happened, there will be more I dread.
I know deep in the very depths of my soul,
what we do is something righteous and bold.
Freedom you see, not a God given right,
But something given to us all by those willing to fight.
Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen alike,
whose blood was shed for our constitutional rights!
Some fought right here to form the USA.
Some fought and died in lands far away!
One thing remains true, even today, as our men and women fight.
They are protecting freedom. They are protecting our lives.
It's not just freedom for you and me.
It's freedom for all in the world, don't you see?
9/11 took more than just American lives,
it touched thousands of lives in the world, that's why we fight!
To stop the evil that lurks about,
we vowed to find them all and root them out!!
So please stand strong and try to unite!
You don't have to agree with this war that we fight.
Just think of the freedom's each day you enjoy,
and then of the families with loved ones deployed.
They are all fighting to keep this world free,
from terrorist and ALL that support them.
Can't you see!
Pray that we are successful in our fight,
So I will ask again, think, please before you speak.
The word you say can cause great grief!
To those Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen alike.
Your words tear at the hearts of those willing to fight.
It insults their families and disrespects all they sacrifice!
Please don't forget why we are free. Respect the flag,
display her for all to see!
One nation under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all!
Don't you remember those words, have you forgotten them all?
To all of those willing to fight,
God Bless you for your courage and sacrifice!

I can't shake every hand.
I can't put flowers on every grave.
I can't console every family member.
But I can say thank you.
You have given me the freedom I enjoy today.
Your blood was shed in place of mine.
Your family grieved so mine could rejoice.
All I can say is thank you.
There are not words big enough.
There is not a hug strong enough.
There is not a smile wide enough.
All I can offer is thank you.
You are my hero.
You are in my thoughts.
You are in my prayers.
For all you've done, thank you.
.............................................................I AM THE FLAG . . .
I am the flag of the United States of America. My name is Old Glory. I fly atop the world's tallest buildings. I stand watch in America's halls of justice. I fly majestically over institutions of learning. I stand guard with power in the world. Look up and see me.
I stand for peace, honor, truth and justice. I stand for freedom. I am confident. I am arrogant. I am proud. When I am flown with my fellow banners, my head is a little higher, my colors a little truer.
I bow to no one! I am recognized all over the world. I am worshipped I am saluted. I am loved I am revered. I am respected and I am feared.
I have fought in every battle of every war for more than 200 years. I was flown at Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Shiloh and Appomattox.
I was there at San Juan Hill, the trenches of France, in the Argonne Forest, Anzio, Rome and the beaches of Normandy, Guam. Okinawa, Korea and KheSan, Saigon, Vietnam know me, I was there.
I led my troops, I was dirty, battle-tested and tired, but my soldiers cheered me And I was proud.
America has been attacked by cowardly fanatics And many lives have been lost But those who would destroy me cannot win For I am the symbol of freedom, Of one nation Under God Indivisible With liberty and justice for all.
I have been burned, torn and trampled on the streets of countries I have helped set free. It does not hurt, for I am invincible.
I have been soiled upon, burned, torn and trampled on the streets of my country. And when it's by those whom I've served in battle it hurts. But I shall overcome for I am strong.
I have slipped the bonds of Earth and stood watch over the uncharted frontiers of space from my vantage point on the moon. I have borne silent witness to all of America's finest hours. But my finest hours are yet to come.
When I am torn into strips and used as bandages for my wounded comrades on the battlefield, When I am flown at half-mast to honor my soldier, Or when I lie in the trembling arms of a grieving parent at the grave of their fallen son or daughter, I am proud.
MY NAME IS OLD GLORY LONG MAY I WAVE.............................................................
