Our youth are learning that animal abuse for profit is ok! Although dog fighting is a felony in all 50 United States, there are still some states that don't take it seriously. As with any other illegal underground activity, it's impossible to determine how many people may be involved in dog fighting, but estimates are in the tens of thousands. This brutal blood sport is a pastime for rich and poor alike, and dog fighting has been reported in urban, suburban and rural settings in all regions of the country. Unfortunately, because dog fighting is such a secretive enterprise, it makes it difficult for law enforcement to infiltrate. A dog fight investigation requires many of the same skills and resources as an undercover narcotics investigation. Our goal is to end this heinous sport forever, starting with the Gulf Coast region. But networking to end it nation, and worldwide. We need to build a facility to house the victims, and potential victims of this brutal "sport". In one months time I counted 789 Terrier, Terrier Mix, and Mastiffs just on Craigslist alone in a 50 mile radius. An estimated 6 Million Pitbulls are put to sleep every year, and those are the ones that go to shelters. Another 2-3 million die in dog fighting events, or are left for dead, electrocuted, set on fire, and even hung when they lose a fight!!! I need your help to Educate the public, fight BSL (Breed Specific Legislation), save, and rehabilitate Pitbulls. We are aware that there are some dogs that will not be able to be re-homed due to their abuse, but they will be giving a life outside of the abuse they have encountered.
