I've noticed that people usually like to build themselves up to unnatural beings in these things. I've decided to try the true approach and see what happens.
I am an alcoholic, drug addict, gambling addict who has been struggling the last couple of years with my addictions. I was sober for 24 1/2 years in AA up til about 3 months ago. I was also gambling free until a couple of weeks ago, and I have experimented with drugs again in the last couple of months. I also have Hep C as a result of intravenious drug use back in the 70's, have been through interferon treatments twice, and still have a high viral load.
I was not working for a couple of years because of the interferon treatments, and I have just started working again about a month ago. I have been unable to find good employment in the accounting field which is what I trained many years for as a result of my addictions, particularly the gambling addiction, and therefore I have been forced to take a job which is well below what I am used to, both in earnings, and difficulty of tasks. I'm driving a forklift and doing warehouse work, and I hate it.
I have been trying hard to rebuild my life, I have had it all, the good job, nice home, etc, and lost it due to my addictions. Now I live in crappy apartment, and am living paycheque to paycheque. Keeping the faith that things will turn around has been difficult at times, and I have been on the edge of giving up many times. I realize that my life will only get better if I make it better, so I have to keep on going, putting one foot in front of the other.
I have been single now for about 6 years, and I desperatly miss that interaction with a partner, but the big problem right now is what could I possible bring to a relationship. I am a broken, damaged man right now, and I need to get it together before I can even think about finding that special lady that will make my heart flutter.
Well, thats me in a nutshell. I would love to get to know others on this site, but I have been through the scammers and crackpots on the net, and therefore I have decided that if I lay it out as it is, no bullshit, I will only attract true people who don't have an agenda and are trying scam others.

Interests
My interests vary and are too numerous to mention. I am an avid reader and seem to always have at least 2 books minimum on the go. I read bestsellers, mystery, true crime, biography and autobiography, and horror. I have also read my share of self-help books and spiritual books.
I love music, was raised taking both piano and guitar lessons, and still play the guitar.
I love sports, green blood coarses through my veins and I am a die hard Riders fan. I enjoy golfing in the summer, and curling in the winter.
I enjoy gourmet cooking, gardening, walking, biking, camping, fishing, and many other activities.
Music
Music is my life. Grew up with the great Rock and Roll of the 60's and 70's, favorites back then were The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, The Guess Who, Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Yes, Rick Wakeman, Uriah Heep, and many one hit wonders from that time.
Also grew up playing Classical Piano, and still love Classical Music when I am reading. Favorite Classical artists are Beethoven, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky.
Started listing to Blues about 10 years ago, now it is one of my favorite musical genres. Love Eric Clapton, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Keb' Mo', and the early works of Ella Fitzgerald.
The only music I really am not that fond of is "Country", Rap, and Chamber music.
Video Games
I do not currently have a game system, so my game playing is confined to the computer. I have a number of RPG's but find most of the time I resort to playing Sports based games. My current favorite is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004, planning on getting the 2006 version soon.
I also have Tom Clancy's Spinter Cell, Silent Hill 2, The Matrix, and Civillization III.
