My neighbor invited me to join Fubar, even though I was reluctant. My outer beauty is fading and surgically altered leaving me feeling very despicable. I had to have a bilateral mastectomies and my once flamboyant girls are down to speed bumps as the cancer came back during reconstruction and the plastic surgreon wouldn't finish the job leaving me with speed bumps and a low self esteem. So my thanks to "I'm so JDM" for helping me feel human! I urge anyone that reads this gives him a "10" he's a great guy!luv, deb
More About Me
Well, can't say I've had a boring life...sometimes it was a bit too tense, busy, crazy, hilarious, loving and memorable!!!
As soon as I graduated from Chula Vista HS in 1970 I went to Southwestern and completed nurse's training. I succeeded in becoming an L.V.N. and I have worked most of my adult life with short respites for various reasons.
I have been married twice. The first marriage created two beautiful daughters and a nice guy that just wasn't for me and we divorced after 11 years of marriage.During that marriage I lived in Indianapolis twice. It wasn't exactly my kinda town...but I've been there recently and boy did it grow up to be a big city.
My second marriage was't perfect, but he was and remains the love of my life. He was tragically torn from life in 1988 due to a single car accident. I still miss him enormously!!!
Lived in San Antonio for a few years...WHEW!! That was the hottest most humid weather I have ever dealt with. My kids knick named my house "Little Siberia" as coming in from 100 degrees to 70's kinda gave you a few goose bumps. When I decided to leave Texas I had to make a decision between San Diego or Puget Sound, Wa. Welllllllllll.....by then my girls were teenagers and I decided to live in a rural area without as many temptations as good ol' Dago!!! (which I knew from experience is too fast lane for teens!).
I love it up here, gorgeous fir trees, mountains and water!!! Not as crazy about winter (don't like the cold but love to see it snow), and it is beautiful having the change of seasons!!! Even our winters are mild. I live on the Olympic Pennisula across the Puget Sound I can see Seattle from this side.
When we first moved here we lived out in the woods, and the kids were freakin' out!!! Where's the side walks? How come the road isn't paved? How do you expect me to skate board??? They renamed Port Orchard to "Bum F*** Nowhere". Didn't take my teens( especially the oldest) long to learn how to catch the bus and/or a ferry to Seattle and really enjoyed the "Grunge Era" and knew some of the local bands that still call Seattle home. At one time I had 7 teenagers living in my home..........EEEEEEEEKS!!!! Can you imagine??? I still can't!! Of course they were all on uneasy terms with their families and I'm glad to say, they eventually worked things out and grew up which made me feel successful.
My other daughter (younger) presented me with a beautiful granddaughter in 1997 that is the "Joy of My Life". She will be 12 in June and is knock out gorgeous "with attitude" and sometimes a bad temper. I've really enjoyed watching her grow up without the parent responsibility!!! And yes, I try to spoil her every chance I get!!!
My older daughter got married in 06 and she has a great hubby and I'm proud of both of them!!! I'm proud to say that both of my girls grew up to be responsible adults which isn't an easy endeavor ever!!!
The last few years I haven't been working, but I enjoyed my career in nursing as much as any one could!!! It was hard work...but so gratifying to bring comfort and a smile to those in pain and ill health. I also had the privilege of working Labor and Delivery too...and it always brought me amazement seeing all these new little ones take their first breath!!!! But, on the other side of life is death. I also enjoyed hospice care and making sure each one that died had dignity without pain, as well as reassuring the loved ones left behind!
Did I mention I have the Lord in my life??? It's been a great change for me and it brings me comfort and peace. I'm currently studying the "Medicine Wheel" which is studying American Native beliefs that teaches that we are all God's Children no matter what religious doctrine, nationality or color of skin we hail from and we can worship our Creator no matter what name we give him as He is one and the same. So judgement is not my worry...that belongs only to God.
Well, last but not least I have terminal cancer. My time in this life isn't to be much longer, but I take great peace in knowing I'll soon be in a much better place.
May I encourage each and every woman to have their mammograms and self exams. "EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES!!!
Of course I cleaned this up a bit...no sense in telling you the bad stuff I did when I was young and stupid, besides I'm old enough to claim C.R.S. Hahahahaha!!! LOL I have two pets. Freddie Freeloader, my mischeivous boy ferret and Sophie my delicate little girl. They sure keep things lively around here and always entertain me into laughter!!!
Love and the Lord's Blessings, deb
