As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are. Friends that don't help you climb, will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you, will eventually decrease you. Consider this: Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how. Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person. Don't follow anyone who's not going anywhere. With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it. Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life. I am a part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I repented and was baptized for the forgiveness of my sins. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I will not look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still. My past is redeemed, my present directed, my future secure. I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, narrow vision, worldly talking, mediocre giving and dwarfed goals. I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotion or popularity. I don't have to be first, recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded.
I now live in His presence, learn by faith, love by practice, lift by prayer and labor in His power. My pace is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven. The road is narrow, the way is rough, my companions few, my guide reliable, my mission clear.
I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, lured back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won't give up, back up, let up or hush up, till I have preached up, prayed up, paid up, stood up and stayed up for the cause of Jesus Christ.
I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I must go until He returns, give until it hurts, preach until I drop, tell until all know and work until He comes. And when He comes to get His own, He'll have no problem recognizing me; my colors will be clear!
