50 gay man, already retired (Yes!) and head over heels in love with and engaged to aa young man I call the Prince of Persia, who is 20 years younger and totally hot,- I'm into most of the stuff you'd expect of a sexually active gay man of a certain age living in New York City, INCLUDING hanging out almost exclusively with other guys, playing almost exclusively with other guys, obsessing about my waistline, obsessing about your waistline, Gin & Tonic,, especially with erotic encounters,, and various other pass-times , lawyer in my previous life, artist, poet, author of The Borgo of the Holy Ghost, which won the MAY SWENSON Prize in Poetry, 2991. Likes classical music and HOUSE. I don't watch TV or go to the movies anymore. I don't hang out with women because I don't understand them, and find them a bit too mysterious, but its not because I disdain them. I actually am a rabid feminist but I just don't get girls I used to have friends who were women but I have, in my dotage, given up the struggle and tend to stick to my own kind; Sorry and no disrespect intended. That said, my favorite poet or co-favorite with Auden is Elizabeth Bishop, I love to hear a woman sing, and I admire the hell out of the whole gender as a rule, but alas, from a distance.

Music
There is nothing more important to me and nothing more powerful with me than music. "Next to silence, nothing expresses the inexpressible better than music," wrote the English writer, Aldous Huxley. I learned classical music and study it still and so it is tje closest to my heart and it goes with me everywhere, every day, (J. S. Bach, Ludwig Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Gustav Mahler, Wolfgang Mozart, Franz Joseph Haydn, Georg Fiderich Handel,) But I also like House, Bebop, stuff I don't know about enough to say what genre it is, I always liked but know very little about, Jazz up to a certain point, especially Coltrane, Sarah Vaughan and Louis Armstrong. And I am open to all kinds of music and always ask people that I meet what they like to listen to in order to tell whether they have a soul or not. My beloved is always playing things at his house and I am constantly asking him "What's that?" and writing down the answer. So my interests are growing, but classical music is my heart. Listen to my favorite piece: Franz Schubert's String Quintet in C, for 2 violins a viola and 2 cellos. He wrote it in the last year of his too short life (he died at 31 probably of venereal disease form the one time in his life had sex ( and it is the most extraordinary dry of the heart I know of. Or try the Piano Sonata in A, D 959, second movement (Andantino) if you want to hear the saddest piece of music ever composed. Also written in the last year of his life. Awesome.
