Hi am an ex member of the British Army slowly adjusting to civilian life After serving 22 years. The biggest obstacle I have found in leaving is finding friends, I have mates but friends are harder to come by. I hate one word replies to a question as it makes chatting hard if not impossible. I can be serious, flirty even dirty but funny can be difficult for me. This is due to my sense of humour more than anything a product of being in the army most squaddies have it.
