There should be a menu bar near the top of your page. The second item in on it should be"My". When you hover your cursor over it you should see a drop down menu. Select profile and there will be tabs that you can select to enter information about you like music, movies and stuff.
There are a few routes you can take. People create skins on here for others to use that will change the appearance of your page. If you want to have one of your pictures as your background like I have, then you can check the checkbox in your photos that says to"use this as background".
