You are a living diamond.
Men dig rocks from the earth,
Take them in their hands,
Cut and fashion them.
A thing of beauty emerges,
Yet it's of their own making.
But no one could ever take you,
Fashion you after their own plan
And make you how they wished.
You must be what you are.
A man holds a diamond in his hands.
He examines its different facets.
Turns it this way and that
To see how the light reflects
From its different angles.
But no one can take you.
Hold you passive
And see your beauty sparkle.
