Liars and Hypocrites

Saturday, September 30, 2006 Current mood: annoyed I am a fairly tolerant person. But there are a few things I just can't stand. Liars and hypocrites. That is why my next nominees for worst person in the world are on this list today. At the bronze level, The New York Post, who is owned by Rupert Murdock who also owns Fox (Faux) News. Keith Olbermann, the host of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann, was recently the subject of a terrorist threat. Now the reason why noone knows about this is because the FBI and New York police department asked Keith, MSNBC and other news organizations not to say anything during the investigation. The New York Post decided that this was a perfect opportunity to throw a few zingers at Keith due to his sudden surge of popularity. They released the story in which it criticized Keith for supposively exaggerating the whole terrorist threat deal. The problem is, the New York Post has now compromised the FBI's investigation by releasing information to the public. Great job guys, whose side are you on? At the silver level, President Bush, who during his speech on September 11, 2006 made a claim to bipartisanship and then a few days later equated the Democratic Party as the party of defeatists who will cut a run at the first sign of trouble. President Bush also said in a recent interview (I am paraphrasing this) that it is wrong for anyone to think that the war in Iraq is bad and that the United States has lost the moral high ground from our stance on torture. Finally, we have Representative Foley of Florida, who recently helped pass laws against online pedophiles. I know, why does this make him bad you say? Because he has just resigned today over recently released emails showing him to be an online pedophile. Sickā€¦ Representative Foley, today's Worst Person in the World!

New Nominees

Tuesday, September 26, 2006 Current mood: annoyed Nominees for worst person in the world are as follows: At the bronze level, Fox News and Chris Wallace. For trying to ambush former President Bill Clinton, then acting all smug when Clinton turned the tables on them and they succeeded in getting a rise out of him. At the silver level, the United States Senate. For reaching a deal where the President of the United States can interpret the Geneva Conventions as he sees fit. This is a dangerous precedent set by our government that shows the rest of the world that if we can ignore the Geneva Convention, so can they. Finally at the gold level, The Bush Administration. As if convincing Congress that torture is not such a bad idea was bad enough. The recent resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan just goes to show that we are fighting the wrong war in Iraq. There are not enough forces in Afghanistan and the Taliban know this. So much so, that they are gathering in ever larger numbers, in broad daylight, and are even paying their troops more than the Afghan troops get paid. Something must be done soon or this war will be lost. The Bush Administration, Worst Persons in the World!

Introduction

Starting Today I am going to repost all of my worst person blogs that I have written over the past couple of months. The idea of the Worst Person in the World is not mine but was taken from MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann, a fantastic news show. And now, the Worst Person in the World.
