A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups. And set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of little boy. > >>> > >>>"Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies." > >>> > >>>"Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, > >>>"These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money." > >>> > >>>The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that enough to take a look?" > >>>"Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle "Here, Dolly!" he called. Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur. > >>> > >>>The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight. > >>> > >>>As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse. > >>>Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up.. > >>> > >>>"I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, "Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never be able to run and play with you like these other dogs would." > >>> > >>>With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers. > >>> > >>>In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe. > >>> > >>>Looking back up at the farmer, he said, "You see sir, I don't run too well myself, and he will need someone who understands." > >>> > >>>With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup. > >>> > >>>Holding it carefully handed it to the little boy. > >>> > >>>"How much?" asked the little boy. "No charge," answered the farmer, > >>>"There's no charge for love." > >>> > >>>The world is full of people who need someone who understands. > >>> > >>>It's National Friendship Week. > >>> > >>>Show your friends how much you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND.

The Impossible Dream

The Impossible Dream It maybe right In Front Of You When it comes to the things we want, there always seems to be an endless list. No matter how many times we get something off that list, we add new things to replace it. In life, this drama of wanting and getting and wanting is all part of the dance. The things we want motivate us to get up and get them. And yet, at the same time, we can torment ourselves with our wanting, especially when we want something we can't have or can't find. It is in cases like these that it might be fruitful to entertain the idea that maybe what you really want is right in front of you. Maybe you are using this desire you can't fulfill to distract you from truly engaging the blessings you already have. It may seem like that doesn't make sense, yet we do it all the time. It may be easier to see in other people than to see it in ourselves. We have all heard our friends wishing they were more this or less that, and looking at them we see clearly that they are everything they are wishing they were. We know people who have wonderful partners and yet envy you yours. We wish we could give these people a look at their situations from our perspective so that they could see that what they want really is right in front of them. It's not too far-fetched to consider that we might be victims of the same folly. It can be scary to have what we want. We get caught up in the chase and forget to enjoy the beauty right in front of us-like a child who never wants the toy she has in her hand but always the one just out of her reach. Take a moment today to consider the many things you are holding in the palm of your hand and how you might best play with them.

Chickens can't fly

To my friends; * Don't spend major time with minor people. * If there are people in your life that continually disappoint you, break promises, stomp on your dreams, are to judgmental,or have different values and don't have your back during difficult times....He or she isn't a friend. * To have a friend....be a friend.Sometimes in life,as you grow, your friends will either grow also....or leave. * Surround yourself with people who reflect your values, goals, interests and lifestyle. * When I think of my successes,I am thankful to God,from who all blessings flow, and to my family and friends that enrich my life! * Over the years my address has changed...because I changed for the better. * At first you think you are going to live life alone, but after awhile new people show up in your life that make your life so much sweeter and easier to endure. * Remember what your elders used to say,"Birds of a feather, flock together". * If you're an Eagle...then soar!Don't hang around with the chickens because everyone knows "Chickens can't fly". And you my friends...can Soar!!! I know you can!!! and I'll be there to cheer you on :o)

Stoking The Fire Within

Stoking The Fire Within Awakening The Inner Warrior There is an inner warrior in each one of us, but in some of us this warrior is underdeveloped to the point that we are unable to stand up for ourselves, even when necessary. There can be many reasons for this. We may have grown up with a parent whose warrior aspect was overdeveloped, and we responded by repressing ours completely. On the other hand, we may have grown up with parents in whom this aspect was dormant, so we never learned to awaken it in ourselves. A warrior is someone with the strength to stand up for what he or she believes; someone who perseveres in the face of challenges and obstacles; someone who speaks and acts in the service of an ideal; someone who protects those who are too weak to fight for themselves. Regardless of the reasons for an underdeveloped inner warrior, you may begin to notice the lack of its fiery, protective presence and wish to awaken it. You may need to stand up for yourself in a certain relationship or situation, or you may have a vision you want to realize, and you know you will need the courage, energy, and strength of a warrior to succeed. Similarly, if you find that you often feel scared, anxious, or powerless, rousing this sleeping ally may be just the antidote you need. One excellent way to cultivate the presence of your inner warrior is to choose a role model who embodies the qualities of bravery, strength, and vitality. This person could be a character in a myth, movie, or book, or a historical or living person you admire. Simply close your eyes each day and contemplate the quality of energy that attracts you to this person, knowing that the same potential lives within you. Confirm for yourself that you are capable of handling this energy responsibly, and stoke the fire of your own inner courage.

Today has passed

Whatever it held of good or evil is now woven into the inevitable pattern of life. I cannot recall one unkind word, nor retrace one foolish step. The tapestry is woven. I might look at the pattern and regret the threads of selfishness, the ravelings of hate, but I cannot remove them, for they are now a lasting part that holds together the weavings of today. I may search for a thread of human kindness, may look for a touch of love and beauty to give color to my drab design, but if I did not weave them in my gleanings of today, I cannot add them. Today has passed. But if tomorrow comes, it will offer me a clean and empty loom, and fresh strands of hope and faith. Perhaps then I can weave a lovelier pattern, with less of the gray of care and the purple of pain, and more of the gold of truth, and the blue of trust, and the shimmering white of faith and purity. Perchance I can throw open my mental blinds so that there may be reflected upon my loom more of the sunshine of cheer and the hope of optimism. Perchance I can focus upon the beautiful instead of the ugly. I will not be mortgaged to the past. Today is no more. ~by Leola Archer~

I am only me

I am only me I am only me,That is all That I can be No more,no less, don't second guess. I love,I laugh,I live and cry, I've wished at times I could die. Some days I'm funny...others I'm not. Sometimes I'm in overdrive and can't stop. I'm a loyal and honest friend, You know I'll be there till the end. I'm a father,my children are my greatest gift, The smiles on their faces always give me a lift. I'm a Romantic, sensual, sexual and passionate too, To the love of my life,I'll share this with you. I can be a bit shy and sweet or saucy and bold, I can be quite a handful,or so I've been told. I'm not perfect,I do have my faults, Like when I get hurt I put up high walls. Or I'm not as forgiving,as I'd sometimes like to be, Because when I hurt,I hurt deeply. My logic is all my own and at times misunderstood, Because I don't always do things for my own good. I have many facets, like a diamond you see... I am only me!
George Carlin's Solution to Save Gasoline. Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants! That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down. Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq . Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved. If you think this is a good plan, send it on!!!

How to build Confidence

How to Build Confidence and Peace of Mind Eight tips to help you push through the fear and self-doubt. By Susan Jeffers, Ph.D. Copyright © 2006 Susan Jeffers, Ph.D. Adapted from 'Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway.' There are few of us who escape feelings of fear and self-doubt as we go about our life. Not to worry! We can all learn how to create within us a wonderful sense of confidence and peace of mind as we face all situations in our lives. My book Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway® is filled with very powerful tools to help us push through the fear and self-doubt in order to create a beautiful and satisfying life. Here is a taste of just a few of these tools... 1. Build your sense of trust in yourself. Your first task is to build the trust that whatever happens in your life, you can handle it all. Right now, think of something about any area of your life that is bothering you and repeat to yourself ten times the important words, "Whatever happens, I'll handle it." I suspect you will immediately begin to feel a sense of peace within your being. These are important words to have when the "what if's" come up. "What if I lose my job? I'll handle it." "What if I get sick? I'll handle it." "What if something happens to my marriage? I'll handle it." And what does "I'll handle it" mean? It means, "I'll learn from it. I'll grow from it. I'll make it a triumph!" 2. Do your very best, then let go of the outcome. To help you let go, develop the trust that "It's all happening perfectly." This calming affirmation is a shortened version of: "I've done my best, but even if things don't go the way I want them to go, I will simply find a way to be enriched by whatever life brings me. I will learn and grow from it all. Therefore, it truly is all happening perfectly." Repetition over and over again of this wonderful affirmation, will definitely quiet the negative chatter of the mind and help you let go of the outcome. Peace at last! 3. Stop complaining. Complaining is a big clue that you are not taking responsibility for your experience of life. Instead of seeing life's obstacles as problems, see them as opportunities, opening the door to growth. When you can control your reactions to whatever life hands you, you have the upper hand. You now have a choice: You can create your own misery...or you can create your own sense of growth and wellbeing. That's power! Every time you have the opportunity to stretch your capacity to handle the world around you, the more powerful and confident you will feel. 4. Yes, "Feel the fear and do it anyway." Often we think, "I'll do it when I am not so afraid." But in reality, it works the other way round. The "doing it" comes before the fear goes away. The only way to get rid of the fear of doing something is to go out and do it. Action is the key. Once you have done something you have feared a number of times, guess what happens...the fear of that particular situation goes away. And it's then time to further expand the comfort zone and move on to the next situation you fear. That's what growth is all about. And as your confidence builds, it will become easier and easier to "feel the fear and do it anyway!" 5. When making decisions, adopt the "no-lose" philosophy. The "no-lose" philosophy tells us that "I can't lose - regardless of the outcome of the decision I make. I look forward to the opportunities for learning and for growing that either choice gives me." Remember, if you learn through your "mistakes," there are no mistakes! In this way, the "no-lose" approach to decision-making guarantees that all your decisions will be the right decisions. 6. Know that you count. Know that your presence makes a difference. If you don't understand this very important fact, act as if you do make a difference! Just keep asking yourself the "act-as-if" question in all areas of your life: "What would I be doing if I were really important here?" Make a list and then take action. Soon you will "live into" the realization that you really are important. 7. Commit 100% to all areas of your life. That means when you are at work or with your family and friends, or meeting new people, or volunteering in the community...or whatever...give it all you've got, holding nothing back. When you commit to giving 100%, your sense of focus, excitement, participation, enjoyment, fulfillment, and happiness come alive. What a glorious feeling that is! 8. Say "thank you" a lot. Saying "thank you" is a wonderful way to make important connections in all areas of your life. The words "thank you" can also help you appreciate and focus on all the good that is around you, thus helping you release any feelings of anger and resentment you may be holding. You can see why the words "thank you" are two of the most powerful words ever spoken. If you, step by step, begin incorporating into your life these tips, your sense of confidence and peace of mind will grow and grow. Remember: there is plenty of time...but now is definitely the time to begin!

Believing in yourself

Believing in Yourself There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be. That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down. But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself. There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them. Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are. So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be. Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you. Keep Believing in Yourself
