If a person is a flag waver, it doesn't bother me so much, when it becomes mandatory to wave flags I get concerned. It also concerns me when people start tossing out terms like KKK or NAZI. Good arguments do not need hyperbole to make their point. I would hate to see good points dismissed out of hand.
Not everyone who serves is a hero. Not everyone who goes to war is a hero. I know I have been there. A hero is the guy that jumps on a grenade. By calling everyone hero the sacrifices of true heroes are diminished.
Which brings us to the main point.
The use of words in this country especially by the right to silence people is appalling. Being against the war = you don't support our troops. Iraq = 911. Against wiretapping everyone = You support terror.
People need to do a little more thinking in this country. If you don't, when you decide to start thinking, it may be too late. Your children will be too stupid, and you will have forgotten how.
