A hope to warm her dying heart Thinking to herself about you The words that steal her veins And the blood that holds her together Too bad she isn’t ready for what you’d do. A tear to stain her pallid cheek Flowing for the moments they were here Forgetting that people are watching As the rain drenches her face All because they would disappear. There is no tomorrow for a broken soul And she grows so tired of this The games and gifts you throw at her Before they walk away Turning their backs forgetting that she exists. And the ground she walks is dangerous While her stone skin is finally breaking The walls are falling and crumbling Shattering the world underneath her feet And there is a hole in that heart That dying heart that can’t stop aching. The shuddering world has come to an end And I watch and wait As she cries herself to sleep one more time And I can’t look at her without wondering This can’t really be her fate. There is no such thing as friends Just a ghost that stands in the night Sighing as their cold fingers lace into her hands And I hold her tight with my cold fingers Warming her dreams Promising her… everything is going to be alright.
