Winter's Heart
A winter's heart covered with snow
Freezes at a temperature 6 degrees below
Cold and hard, numbing the spirit
With warm feelings frozen beneath it
A winter's heart, indifferent and closed
Strangles an inner warmth that longs to be exposed
The voice of compassion screaming 'Release me! '
When the winter heart tastes heat and rejects it naturally
Winter heart so accustomed to its environment
A higher temperature wants to melt your cold heart
Melt the pains and hurts, disappointment and wrath
Oh! Hammer of His Word break this cold rock in pieces
Hammer away until the coldness ceases
And the fire shut up in my bones is free
Consuming and warming my spirit, soul and body.
