Maguire, Whitney Jo View/Sign Guest Book Whitney Jo Maguire, 21, of Ambridge died unexpectedly Tuesday. Born Jan. 29, 1987, in Charleston, S.C., she was the daughter of David L. O'Brien and his wife, Jeanie H. O'Brien, of Cranberry Township and Carol Tyro O'Brien of Ambridge. She attended Moon Senior High School and received her GED in 2005. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband Daniel Maguire of Butler; a 2-year-old son, Liam Russel Maguire; two sisters, Michelle O'Brien Slinger and her husband, Paul, of Economy and Gabriela H. O'Brien of Cranberry Township; a brother, Christopher O'Brien of Ambridge; her maternal grandmother, Mary S. Tyro of Harmony Township; her paternal grandfather, William S. O'Brien of New Castle; a niece, Allison Slinger; uncle and aunt, Terry and Judy Tyro of Glendale, Ariz.; uncle and aunt, Robert S. and Nancy O'Brien of Des Moines, Iowa; and a cousin, Marissa Tyro. Whitney will be missed by her many, many friends including the Geisinger family, Shawn, Susan and Gary, who were like her second family. Preceding her in death were her maternal grandfather, John Tyro Jr., and paternal grandmother, Vickie O'Brien. MAGUIRE - Friends of Whitney Jo Maguire, who died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Brown of the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cranberry Township officiating. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, 3705 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
