So tonight I shall watch either of the following movies :
1. Gummo.
2. The Brown Bunny
3. Der Untergang
4. Irreversible
5. Philosophy of a Knife
6. Cross of Iron
7. Angel Heart
I've seen Gummo,Der Untergang, Angel Heart and lastly, Cross of Iron before.
I pretty much loathe the more commercial movies out there but occasionally if I
want to shut off my mind I'll watch a mindless action flick.
As for Der Untergang and Cross of Iron, nothing like a good WW2 flick, especially knowing the out come...i.e....lot's of dead Nazi's (always a good thing in my book).
Gummo (directed by the guy who wrote "kids" I believe) is a bizzaro film. The only scenes I object too are the ones with the cats. If you've seen the movie you know what I'm refering too.
Irreversible , well all I can say about that is, it's ultra violent. Think Clockwork Orange but much more violent.
Philosophy of a Knife is based on UNIT 731, which was a Japanese Army Medical unit stationed in China during WW2. And they did horrific experiments on people. If you've ever seen "Man behind the sun" than you'll understand and I guess, appreciate POAK. It still boggles the mind that they did what they did as they were "following orders". Sigh.
A few days ago I watched "Quill" about the Marquis De sade. Not the 1st time I've seen this particular movie but the acting is amazing in it. And I love period pieces.
And with that I'm off to heat up something to eat and then off to watch a flick.
