Good Morning on this first Wednesday of the New Year. Happy New year to you but many of you already have wished that to me as I have done for you as well. I know this because it took me 45 minutes to reply to all those who sent New Years wishes back. Thank You. Did the New Year come in with tons of promises of not eating too much, not doing this or quitting that? Yeah same here. I ate too much, drunk a little…hmmmm I have gotten that turned around. We did family games, went over to a friends house for a New Years Eve Party and ole man winter bestowed upon us a nasty dish of snow and more snow. However the weekend was a blast the friendship was great as it is with you. I am thankful for all. I seen in the news that this restaurant in New York, Serendipity which was also a movie I think…John Cusack I think was in the male lead roll anyway this restaurant was sited for having the most expensive dessert but, as the story unfolds… sometimes karma just reaches up and bites ya.
So here is an Irony for ya. On Nov. 7, news media reported that New York City's Serendipity 3 restaurant had been noted by the Guinness Book of World Records for having the planet's most expensive dessert (a $25,000 chocolate sundae, featuring, among other delicacies, edible gold flakes). On Nov. 16, the same news media reported that the city's Department of Health had ordered Serendipity 3 closed after inspectors found a live mouse in the kitchen, along with mouse droppings, fruit flies, house flies and more than 100 cockroaches. [Reuters, 11-7-07] [New York Times, 11-16-07] hmmm I wonder if Chocolate flavored cockaroaches were also a hit with them…YIK!! Never less may the new year find you happy healthy and hopefully not having to cancel diner reservations at Serendipities in the near future…
Happy New Year to all
A hundred and One Pats and a great big hug
