Alright, now as some of you may know
the video game rental industry has gone straight down the shitter
so a lot of times consolers are kinda forced to demo a game (rarely) borrow it, or buy it to play it at all.
Since new games are $60 I either have to have +++ faith in the franchise/producer/friend that recomended it, or I have to go on a FUCKING VISION QUEST to play it before I buy it.
That being said
I have some games I bought and suffered some buyer's remorse
the only thing
MORE
blowful than the rental industry
is 2nd hand.
I bought Resistance 2 on franchise faith thinking "how can they fuck this up? resistence two was fucking GREAT"
well, by abandoning the predecessor game systems and making a COD/Halo clone on railroad tracks and a 2 gun inventory ... of course.
I tried to take the ONCE loaded and played game back
which was within my returns agreement had I bought it
anywhere
but bestbuy
so I had to trade it
Game I bought
that day, no damage, no fingerprints even on the manual
I traded for $22 and paid an additional 6 to get ninja gaiden sigma
a game I had demod
and didn't hate.
Today I took 4 mint condition games to the store and one I bought second hand with no instruction booklet
2 of these games were HIT franchises, and only one of them had been out for more than six months.
$11.
...
.......
..........
does anyone else feel an "in my day" coming?
Cuz here it is
back in my day
if I paid $20 for a game, I could trade it for an equal value used game, or $11-$5
in my day if I bought a game for $50 and it was still in good condition with original manual
and was a LIMITED RELEASE
It actually appreciated in fucking value.
Fucking games man...
it doesn't help that one of the primo game reviewers/producers now owns MOST second hand stores.
/notbeingaparanoidtard
EA and Gamespy owns most of the secondhand games/online game reviewers

/kthx
I would seriously take no less than $20 bucks on the mint condition games even if I hated them, even if they got released on greatest hits, even if they had a rerelease with new content.
I don't think 1/3 the value of a new game for a like-new game is unreasonable, and I've been trading games, cards, and comics for over a dozen years.
*shrugs*
What a racket.
