What is fubar? Simply put, it's a game! Never forget that because it's important!! Further than that, it's based on social networking. You will learn quickly who you can trust and who you can't. My advice, stick with those who you know will have your back from start to finish. Listen, learn, and have fun!
Why is a salute important? It lets people know you are a real person, and after Level 44 it's required! A lot of people won't even talk to you unless they know you are real because of so many scammers online! Basically it's a safety thing!!
Making a salute: Go to My Settings: http://fubar.com/settings.php Look at My User ID and that is the # you want to write down along with your user name and fubar.

What to do on here, you ask... Start making friends. Goal is 100,000 total for the highest achievement. Make sure with every friends request you send, that you also Like/Rate/Fan them 1st, and with every request at least say hi or write something. Sending a blank friends request usually gets ignored by a lot, or accepted just to be accepted, but not often interacted with... plus I kinda think it's a bit rude (in my opinion.) Talk to people. If you are really social, there are a few really cool lounges to join. There are also a few arcade type games you can play if you're bored!
Importance of fanning: Do not send a friends request if you are not already this person's fan... also in accepting a friends request, make sure you go fan that person as well. There is an achievement of 5000 fans, so FAN FAN FAN!!
Drinks and Gifts: You can send drinks to all your friends, fans, and to all new members (sending new members drinks for 7 days is an achievement as well.) There are also other gifts you can send. On Level 21, and 25 it requires you to be given Big Pimpin Gifts. These are found in the drink section far right... just more expensive gifts to send! A lot of people like to give a drink or gift when they visit a page just to say hi!
Points: With every level, the points go higher and higher. There are easy ways to get points, and all points add to your fubucks as well. Watch the bonus as it changes almost daily, this will make a lot of difference in what your focus will be on getting mega points for the day! Make sure you like/rate/fan/friend/comment all active bling as well as everyone else on the site. Also rate pictures when you can. Vote for Battle of the Bands (only have to listen to 24 seconds of each song before pushing vote.)
Play fulotto. This is a good way to earn points, fubucks, Happy Hours, and VIPs. Don't give up, you'll win... and it's an achievement when you do!

Big Bang: Gives the person running a BB an extra rate, and allows you to Like/Rate/Comment/Rate 10 pics and it gives you a 25% bonus for 10 minutes on everything you do. If you can find 5 people running BB, then you can open them in separate windows and go for the achievement Big Bang MVP and 125%.
Rock Star: Gives the person running an extra Like button! More points for liking that person, esp on a bonus like day. When being liked by a person running a RS, you get 2 likes as well.
Auto 11s: Gives you the ability to rate them an 11, even when you have to rate 10s. Really good to run if you are wanting bombed!

Night Star: Gives the person an extra Like button, and is only ran between 12-5am fu time. Like a RS, but less points.
Mega Polisher: Gives you the ability to polish more than your daily 10 bling per person. When a person runs one on you, it gives 3X the bonus points for polishing your bling.
Boomerangs: Rate everyone running these because it automatically rates you back. Watch for bonus days for profile ratings and it's mega points!
Fubucks: With everything you do on fubar, as well as people l/r/f/f/commenting you, this adds up to fubucks. You can own profiles, play games, and do several things with fubucks. My advice is to invest it, and let it all build interest. You'll eventually wanna do spotlight, and that takes a lot of bucks to accomplish.
FuOwned: This gives a member the chance to invest some fubucks on your profile. Level 24 requires $100,000 worth. Level 28 requires $1 million worth. The max you can set a person at is $1 billion...
Achievements: Get to know this list really well... http://fubar.com/achievements.php And make achievements a big part of your focus. In order to “beat the game” you have to have 250 of these to accomplish that goal. There are tricks and easy ways of getting these done, so talk to people before trying one out... where as some of them are pretty self explanatory!
Pay to Play: Yes, this is a free to join site... HOWEVER, in order to fully enjoy all benefits of the game, it does require money, and in time, quite a bit of it! This is a decision you need to make early on whether or not you can afford the commitment and not have it effect your daily living. Just an FYI, several have been addicted to the point of bankruptcy... choose playing your game, and your friends wisely.
Getting Bling: For 1, this cost REAL MONEY... so watch the begging, and appreciate everyone who chooses to spend money on you. This is also a game changer here... if you cannot afford to buy in and bling back (mind you not everyone expects a payback...) then don't beg too much! People work hard for their money, and it's hard enough spending for your own level rather than trying to afford everyone else's! Again... Make friends, get to know them... a lot of us are willing to help! Level 33 requires you to bling people! Level 47 requires you to be blinged by 10 different people as well!
Warning: I stress GET TO KNOW PEOPLE!! There are men and women on this site we like to call “fu whores/bling whores.” They will try to tell you everything, or show you everything to try and get you to bling them! Make sure you trust the person you are trading bling for bling with as well, some will allow you to bling and then not bling you back (some have even blocked after being blinged!)
Credits: Having credits allows you to allows you to buy bling or power ups for yourself and to help others with their game if you choose to do so. To buy credits https://fubar.com/purchase_credits.php and enter in your information. Select the amount you'd like, and check out! Congrats, you're now a real game player... be careful this can be addicting!!
Credit Sales: These happen about once a month, and you have to be online on a computer and watch for it to happen, and it only last a few hours. This can range from 20%-50% off (although I've only seen 25% at the highest, I've heard a few mention 50% though!) Great time to stock up on credits!!
VIPs: This gives you the option to highlight your name a different color, gives you more room in your family, gives you 250 11s to use in a day, and gives you room for 10000 pictures! I personally like being VIP for the pictures and the 11s...
Shitfacing: This gives people an extra boost for an hour, and there is a new achievement of 5000 shitfaces, so make this important!!! If you have the ability points, and see someone who isn't shitfaced, take care of it...
Pokes: This is just a way to say hi. However, this is also an achievement, several actually. Poking someone for the 1st time, Getting poked by your crush, 100, 1000, and 5000... So start poking!! (Hint: Connect is an easy way to get started, and you can get around 500 pokes done in a day!)
NSFW pictures: A whole lot of people are on here just for the adult portion of the game. Be really careful if you choose to go down this road. Keep in mind these are people behind a screen and you don't know if they are gonna right click and save your picture for their own weird collection. You also cannot have a guarantee on bling with these!
Just some FYIs: Do not use someone else's name in your status unless you are promoting them for a run. This can cause you to get suspended or banned from the site! Example: (name) is harassing me... would be a bad thing! (name) is running for 1k/5k/10k, etc go like them... would be a good thing!
A lot of people are on here for an escape from life, to give them an alternate personality to live by, just to make friends, just to play the game, and for various other reasons. Be careful not to get too invested because this IS JUST A GAME. Making friends is a perk, and there are some that will become family and you know those will be who you can rely on!
