Well last week was the week from hell. A month ago, the company that I worked for was bought out...and as one of the stockholders, I voted for the buyout.
We had heard rumors that there were going to be some "cuts" and they were going to be painful.
Last Wednesday the "painful" cuts started....150 people lost their jobs as a result of the downsizing...and I was one of them. I had to go in on Thursday to "teach" some people the jobs that only I knew how to do....it was a hard day for me. But with a few tears, some laughter, sharing some great memories and lots of hugs and kisses from some of my really wonderful co-workers, I got through the day. It's hard to stuff 24 years of memories and friendships into an 8 hour period of time...
A very good friend reminded me that when one door closes another opens....so I'll be watching for that door to open for me..
So in closing and as those of you who are really good friends of mine know, I'm on dial up so I'm not sure how much I'll be here and as far as comments...well I used to do that at work in the mornings and at lunch when I could....so I don't know how many comments I'll be able to leave for everyone.. I know I'll loose friends over my inability to be here much...but I also know my good friends will always be here for me.
