remember the first time I had the pleasure of being introduced to Enya's world via her music. The album "Watermark" and all those magnificent songs on it represented a whole new experience for me as I was not at all familiar with "Gaelic Culture." I spent many nights sitting in front of the stereo and listening in the dark to remove all other sensory input. This way I could enjoy the pure splendor of songs like, " Na Laetha Geal Moige" with my newborn cradled in my lap letting it wash over us both. Music can be such a sensuous experience and I could not imagine more beautiful music to rock my child to sleep. Jerry Lee Lewis once said that " Rock And Roll " was the rythym of feeling but I would respectfully suggest to "The Killer" that his montra could be extended to all good music. Music is an art form and shares a defining characteristic with telepathy. When I established telepathic contact with our injured border collie it not only demonstrated to me that all species are potentially telepathic but that telepathy itself is not language but "communication". As such I view music the same in that not understanding the words of a foreign language does not impune on your appreciation of it. Another beautifully haunting CD is called " Angels Of The Sea " and is a compilation of primal sounds that tantalise and delight your senses with gentle rolling music set to the calls of sea birds, rythymic, ocean waves and a host of whale and porpoise species singing in their own language. I do wonder when our species reaches out to the stars if we will find intelligent alien species that communicate through song and telepathy rather than our idea of a structured language. It seems to work well enough for the angels of the sea so we should probably not be suprised if we as humans turn out to be the freakish, anomalies of the galaxy.
