This snake is found throughout the world. Its color varies from pink to black. It is fang-less and with a highly venomous spit. The size is depending on its mood & sub-species.
This snake attacks mainly women, resulting in an inconspicuous bump and then a severe swelling followed by the excruciating pain for many months. The attack is not usually fatal. But it has been known that this snake attacks men also.
This snake is usually found in darkened bedrooms, but has been known to appear in the most usual and unusual places such as, hotels bedrooms, toilet rooms and bathrooms, parks and inside malls.
There are various types of vaccine available for women. However, once the venom is injected into the body only drastic measures will ensure complete recovery. But for men there are no antidotes have found yet.
When attacked - do not apply a tourniquet, as the venom is too deep in the body to be affected. Cutting the wound is completely unnecessary and ineffective, as the bleeding will stop after a few days. Sucking the wound is the most popular method, but so far has not been reported to have lead to success.
Because the venom has many uses as medicaments you are advised not to kill the snake once you caught it. Here you will be taught the process on how to do the “milking the snake”. And it would depend if you are a left-handed or right-handed.
With your fingers, place them around the neck of the reptile, with the thumb in the front. Grip it firmly, and then slowly move the hand in an upward and downwards motion to faster pace. This will result for the snake becoming highly aggressive and start spitting.
The time taken for this milking process depends entirely on the milker and the last time the snake attacked someone. Once milked, the snake should be harmless for about 20 minutes or an hour.
