Happy 2nd day of the work week :D So much has happened over the last several days. I killed my ZTR, which cost me $475 to fix. So I spent a bit of time each day push mowing my 1.6 acres while the ZTR was in the shop. I went on a date...yeah, I got stupid...wasted 4 hours of my time. I know better, but the occasional spark of hope is a siren call. I went to church Sunday, ate lunch with friends & went riding with my friend, Diane, who ended up going down when she hit some gravel. She is fine. She bent her shifter, so it was hitting the casing below the shifter. I had some tools in my kit, and we managed to get her able to limp to her brother's house. An entire crew of folks descended to get her all fixed up. My 2nd son w/OCD & autism got fired. The good news is, his dad is finally stepping up to help us resource housing & a new job. Let me just mention that while I live on a scrawny budget, my ex is a millionaire, debt free, just paid &960k cash for a new house. It's about dang time. I'm grateful. Anyway, life

Happy Friday! I surely hope you feel like you've earned your weekend. It's so much more fun when you KNOW for certain you've done your best & don't have to be weighed down with regret or worry. When people do me dirty, it stings. My initial thought is to try to have a bigger stinger. BUT my rule is to just win on another level, remain classy & take the high road. When those who've wronged me look at me, they know my worth & feel all that dirt they dishes showing up in their own hearts. That is revenge enough. Have a fantastic Friday!

I had some things to say earlier today, but by now I've forgotten them all. Work has turned my brain to mush :D I'll leave you with some good Blues names. For women: Sadie, Big Momma, Bessie, Fat River Dumpling. For men: Joe, Willie, Little Willie, Big Willie. People named Michelle, Amber, Debbie and Heather can't sing The Blues no matter how many men they shot in Memphis. If you want to create your own Blues names, here is a starter kit: 1) pick an infirmity: blind, lame, gimpy, one-armed, decripit, ancient, etc. 2) Use a Blues first name or the name of a fruit. 3) Last name of a president. Jackleg Lemon Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Drunk Big Willie Washington, and Fat Georgia Peach Ford are examples.

You have the right to sing The Blues if: you older than dirt, you blind, you shot a man in Memphis, you can't be satisfied. If you ask for water and your darlin' give you gasoline, it's The Blues. Other acceptable Blues beverages are: cheap wine, whiskey or bourbon, muddy water, nasty black coffee. Perrier, Chardonnay & Slim Fast do not count.

Rules 9-11 of The Blues: 9) You can't have no Blues in an office or a shopping mall. The lighting is wrong ;) Go outside by the parking lot or sit by the dumpster. 10) Good places for The Blues: Highway, Jailhouse, an empty bed, bottom of a whiskey glass. 11) Bad places for The Blues: Nordstrom's, Gallery openings, Ivy league institutions, Golf courses. Have a blessed Sunday! I won an early morning HH. No time to put my family back together before I head out to church, so my LF fam is in my famp. I'll fix things when I can. Thanks everyone for all the effort during LF :)

Rules 6-8 of The Blues: 6) Teenagers can't sing The Blues. They ain't fixin' to die, yet. Adults sng the Blues. In Blues "adulthood" means being old enough to get the electric chair if you shoot a man in Memphis. 7) Blues can take place in NYC but not in Hawaii or any place in Canada. Hard times in Minneapolis or Seattle is probably just clinical depression. Chicago, St Louis and Kansas City are still the best places to have The Blues. You cannot have The Blues in any place that don't get rain. 8) A man with male pattern baldness ain't The Blues. A woman with male pattern baldness is. Breaking your leg cause you were skiing is not The Blues. Breaking yo' leg 'case a gator be chompin' on it is.

Rules 4 & 5 of The Blues: 4) The Blues is not about choice. You stuck in a ditch, you stuck in a ditch--ain't no way out. 5) Blues cars: Chevys, Fords, Cadillacs & broken-down trucks. Blues don't travel in Volvos, BMWs or SUVs. Most Blues transportation is a Greyhound bus or a southbound train. Jet aircraft & company motorpools ain't even in the running. Walkin' plays a major part in the Blues lifestyle. So does fixin' to die.

Rules 1-3 of the Blues (stolen): 1) Most Blues begin, "Woke up this morning..." 2) "I got a good woman" is a bad way to begin the Blues, unless you stick something nasty in the next line like, "Got a good woman with the meanest face in town." 3) The Blues is simple. After you get the 1st line right, repeat it. Then find something that rhymes...sort of: "Got a good woman with the meanest face in two. Yes, I got a good woman with the meanest face in town. Got teeth like Margaret Thatcher and she weigh 500 pounds."

I'm a member of Gen-X. My parents were Baby Boomers. I have to go all the way back to my grandparents to speak about the GI Generation aka The Greatest Generation. History & the lessons learned through it were a huge part of my childhood, and D-Day was spoken of with an air of reverence. When I watched Saving Private Ryan, I felt the stories of my elders become more real. Can you fathom what it was like? They faced real horror, and they are real heros. Our much softer generations would likely have expired long before landing on those beaches of Normandy, due to the fear & anxiety. I don't mean to be ugly, but D-Day reminds me what Men & Women used to face & how honorably they handled it. Much respect to all present on that day!

Happy Hump Day, now that it's winding down here on the east coast. My work day was brutal today! I need to purchase power ups for LF on Saturday, so if there is anyone who also needs them, let's swap! I'm still on a work call at 7:19pm, so I need to skedaddle. Enjoy your evening! Oh & someone make me a stiff drink for when this call ends ;)

Happy taco & tequila day! Smile just because it's good for you, and it helps those around you, too. I am going to the Durham Bulls game this evening with my DIL & Cait, so I'm having a great day no matter what. I hope you have the best day, too!

Practice happiness & don't worry about those who aren't happy for you. Chances are they aren't happy for themselves, either. Happy people, not people who have material things, but those who choose to be happy, are more attractive!

Rumors are so fun! They make me so much more interesting than I really am. I'm like, oh really? Tell me more! I can't wait to hear the end of the story :D Happy Sunday, my friends. It's been a odd day of relaxation. I think I'll watch a movie...with subtitles. I just snack too loudly ;) Enjoy your last bit of weekend!

I hope my US friends had a special weekend. It's time to get back to routine, and I hope that's going smoothly for you. I had an amazing weekend, except when I clotheslined my son who was standing on the tractor I was driving by going under a strand of lights too low for the muffler. He has a broken rib & a severely separated shoulder/torn ACL. Yep, "Grace" strikes again. Someetimes I really am a disaster waiting to happen. May your day be disaster free & your respect for others an endless supply.

Happy Friday, dear friends! Any holiday that causes us to pause to reflect on our service men & women is special. This weekend we take time to remember & express gratitude for those who paid the ultimate price that every single one of them knew might be asked of them. I have a difficult time fathoming that love for our country & its people. To all families of anyone who died in service to the USA I give my respect & gratitude. You've experienced loss, while the rest of us have gain in the protection of our lives & freedom. I also pray for our country, because many changes don't feel so much like freedom anymore. I don't mean to know what our Fallen fought for, but I'm sure many of them didn't sacrifice for a lot of what is happening. If I'm wrong, God set me straight. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend & don't forget to say thanks.

Over the 5 yrs I was going through reconstruction, deconstruction, re-reconstruction, sepsis & all that fun wound packing, I pretty much lived in my recliner. Partly because I really enjoy eating & probably partly due to boredom/emotions that ran amok, I gained 50 flipping pounds. I've posted photos of the times I could move & temporarily lose weight, but always I gained it back when the next surgery happened. Now that my health is returning, I'm determined to lose this weight. The good news is, over the last 10 months, I've lost 30-some pounds. The bad news is, thanks to a bum knee, I haven't done any squats, lunges, wall squats or any other thing that would tone my gluts...and my butt is getting flat :o Any advice on exercises I can do with a right knee that is screwed up, please?

Most Sundays after church, a group goes to lunch. Each week the group gets a bit larger, which makes me happy. Yesterday a young lady sat at our table & said she felt led to invite an unhoused person she noticed standing on the corner holding a sign to join us. She not only felt the tug to do so, but she took action. So our group grew by one more yesterday, and his name was John. He was good company & had interesting stories. He was gracious & polite. I didn't even notice John down on the corner, so I was humbled in so many ways, both by John & the young lady who invited him to join us. God, make me more observant & obedient to your leading. Happy new week, my friends!
