I have a crush on someone!

I love live music. Any kind of live music. I generally hate country, hip hop and rap, but I'll listen to it live and have a blast. I'll listen to two guys banging on trash cans with a dead skunk if they can make music that way and do it well. My tastes for just listening tend towards complex studio work and experimental stuff, but anything that seems more weaved together than strung together works for me, along with lyrics that speak a truth. Instrumentals that speak a truth are nice to, but harder to find. I love quirky and commercially unsuccessful indie films, but have a major addiction to Science Fiction in any form, even when it's bad or does well at the box office. Sometimes especially when it's bad. Just has to be the right kind of bad. SyFy Originals do NOT count as bad. They count as not Science Fiction.
I read a lot. Preferably something subversive. And of course, Science Fiction. I also have a fascination with ancient, ancient, ancient history. The more ancienter, the betterer.
I eat meat, and am not a fan of putting green leafy things or plant reproductive organs in my mouth, especially if I have to chew, but that has more to do with a short in my gag reflex than any philosophical or health preference. To ease my guilt, I try to remember that life feeds on life, and that carnivores are built the way they are for a reason and are not inherently evil. This usually works. Call me morally weak and bring me a steak sandwich. On the other hand, we really need to do something about factory farms and the conditions under which we raise our live food. Our food system in general needs to be torn down and rebuilt, but that's another project. I'm working on it. I would not object to eating vat grown, brainless meat, but I draw the line at extreme right wing conservatives. That would be cannibalism.
I have strange ideas, suck at small talk, and can be awkward in conventional social settings. These are hard won characteristics and I'm not likely to give them up. I've had an interesting life, done a lot of traveling, the hard way, and have ended up with a slightly off center perspective as a result. I consider this a reward for some of the pain I've felt along the way. I also consider it punishment for some occasional stupidity. I think it's fascinating the way that works, sometimes.
As for what I'm doing on fuBar... You got me. No clue.
"We are dreamers, shapers, singers, and makers. We study the mysteries of laser and circuit, crystal and scanner, holographic demons and invocations of equations. These are the tools we employ, and we know many things. Fourteen words to make someone fall in love with you forever, seven words to make them go without pain, how to say goodbye to a friend who is dying, how to be poor, how to be rich, how to rediscover dreams when the world has stolen them from you." - Credo of the Technomages

Interests
You are The Hermit
Prudence, Caution, Deliberation.
The Hermit points to all things hidden, such as knowledge and inspiration, hidden enemies. The illumination is from within, and retirement from participation in current events.
The Hermit is a card of introspection, analysis and, well, virginity. You do not desire to socialize; the card indicates, instead, a desire for peace and solitude. You prefer to take the time to think, organize, ruminate, take stock. There may be feelings of frustration and discontent but these feelings eventually lead to enlightenment, illumination, clarity.
The Hermit represents a wise, inspirational person, friend, teacher, therapist. This a person who can shine a light on things that were previously mysterious and confusing.
I just learned of your passing last October. R.I.P Mike... You were always such a special friend to me I am sad to learn of your death, but happy that you spent the last years of your life with your lovely girlfriend/wife. I will think of you when I look at the stars
