I don't know why I'm here, a friend showed me this site and I figured what the hell might as well sign up. If you're looking to meet a hot guy on this site, don't look here, cuz you won't find one with me. I have all the things they don't want, and love is overrated in my book: too painful and just a hassle overall. My views on love and relationships can be summed up by Mr. Greg Graffin, perhaps the greatest lyricist ever:

Like you, perserverance is a useless tool
Just a patron on a ship of fools
Feigning interest in the cast and crew
While you've broken every single rule

There's a furnace set on high
and a yearning undefined
now it's time to turn the tide
it's social suicide...

A few more things about me:

Music is my life - if it were outlawed tomorrow, I'd have no reason to live

I hate MTV and American Idol (except for the first few weeks) - it's nothing but mindless instapop crap that totally ruins what music should be

I'm all about anything baseball or football.

I still enjoy video games - it's a harmless hobby

I love my family and am not embarrassed to admit it. They're the ones who are always there to pick you up when you fall down. They don't say "home is where the heart is" for nothing, you know.

I'm a history buff. I'm hooked on the history channel and will read anything I can get my hands on regarding anything of historical value.

I question God's existence. I believe he's just somebody that religious types invented to alleviate their fear of death. What "loving god" would let a man like hitler live, yet strikes down babies and children with cancer?

When it comes to relationships and dating, I believe unconditional love is an obsolete concept. These days, love comes with a price tag, sad as it is to admit. If you think I'm wrong, I ask you this - Why is "no fault divorce" legal, and why are divorce rates over 50 percent?

I believe the female orgasm is a complete myth. If a vibrator could mow the lawn, pay the bills, and buy expensive cars and jewlery, we'd be killed off in an instant.

I support our troops 100%. I have family and friends who have served or are serving, and I am so proud of them. That does not mean I am automatically in favor of war.

I believe understanding and dialogue solve problems better than bullets and bombs. But I do realize there are exceptions (i.e. world war II - Hitler was a sick maniac who started it, so that was the only way do deal with him).

With politics being such a hot topic these days, people always ask me "where do you stand politically?" and "What do you think about Obama as President?" Well, I'll break it down for you as best I can:

All politicians are crooks, period. They have all these neat ideas that make great bumper sticker slogans and sound wonderful...until they get elected, and then they promptly sell out their ideas for a few campaign bucks. While Obama is a far cry from the likes of someone like Dick Cheney...that doesn't exempt him, either. He's bought and paid for just like the rest of them.

As for where I stand personally, I am a democratic socialist. Now hold on, before you go shouting "Karl Marx!" and "Communist!!" at me, take a deep breath, take a couple sedatives, and let me explain. I believe in peace, social justice, and understanding. A common misconception about socialists is that we believe in some fascist Orwellian dystopic big brother government, which is blatantly untrue. I believe in a small government with a big heart. In other words, I believe government should SERVE the people, not police them. I think it's perfectly feasible for a government to respect individuality and freedom while at the same time be there to help those that do not have the means to help themselves. America was founded on the principle that all are created equal, so I believe equal people should have equal opportunities to realize their own pursuits of life, liberty, and happiness. Believe it or not, I also believe in economic freedom (Remember I'm a democratic socialist, not a communist, HUGE difference). I just don't believe in Reaganomics, where it's every man for himself and the rich are allowed to exploit the poor for personal gain...and I work for a living so you can't call me a lazy freeloader, sorry to break it to you. I have no problem with starting your own business, after all I'm extremely proud of and a firm believer in the principles laid out by our founding fathers, but when you have people making 50 million dollars a year at the expense of sweat shop labor and taking jobs away from hard working Americans, then something is definitely wrong. Bottm line - I believe that a healthy, stable, and well informed society is a strong society. We democratic socialists are not the boogeymen that the media and self-serving pundits make us out to be.

I think if two people are in love, they should get married, regardless of sexuality. Just because some book says an imaginary man in the sky is against it doesn't mean it should become law. Whatever happened to the separation of church and state?

Just because I think global warming is a serious problem and that we should start exploring alternative energy DOES NOT make me a sandle clad bead wearing tree hugger (as one of my friends put it).

I believe violent video games do not encourage violent behavior. It is bad parenting and bad role modeling that cause that kind of behavior. I also believe rap music does not lead to gang membership and crime, and heavy metal music does not lead to satan worshipping. I grew up with horror movies, hard rock, and Mortal Kombat...and I consider myself to be a decent human being.

I think if you're so gung-ho about going to war, you should join up. Armchair warriors piss me off. Conversely, if you are so anti-war, then peel your ass off the couch, turn off the TV, and get out there and protest and make your voice heard in the streets instead of hiding behind your computer in your basement under a pseudonym on some blog. Armchair protesters piss me off just as much. Complicity is what allows bad things to happen for the wrong reasons.

I'm always open to new ideas and will try almost anything at least once.

Oh, and one more thing - If you are one of those people on here who has like 10,000 friends, you need to get a damn life.

Ok now that we got that out of the way, here are a few people I admire:

My family - they are the ones who help keep my chin up and walking in the right direction, and who are always there for me when I needed them. They taught me what it means to be a good person and to always do my best.

My friends - They say that no man is a poor man as long as he has good friends by his side...and I couldn't agree more.

Bill Gates - For all you aspiring entrepreneurs out there, I suggest taking a look at this man. He is a perfect example of what hard work, focus, and dedication can do. I realize that he isn't perfect, and there are certain things he has done in the past that I disagree with, but that is not the point I'm making here. He didn't inherit his wealth, he created it himself, and worked his ass off for every single penny he has.

Our men and women in uniform - whether it be military, police, firefighters, paramedics, doctors or nurses...these are people who know what it means to serve your country or your community and protect us, help us, and heal us...and I am proud to stand in support of them.

And last, but definitely not least...Jesus -
"Whaaaaaat???? But Ricky, I thought you were an atheist!"

Don't get your shorts in a bunch, I'll explain. It's true I have my questions as to whether or not there is an invisible man who lives in the clouds who we will go to live with in eternal joy forever and ever after we die, but Jesus was not a god. Jesus was a real man, proven by countless historical records, and in my humble opinion...one of the greatest human beings to ever walk this earth. He championed the poor, believed in peace, and taught us to love, accept, and forgive one another, regardless of our flaws. And not only did he believe it, he lived it. Now THAT is someone I would be proud to associate myself with.

Now, here are a few people that annoy me:

Shallow people - You know the type...people who think because they're good looking or rich that they're better than everyone else...the "don't hate me because I'm beautiful" crowd. Your looks are merely the result of winning the genetic lottery, and chances are that wealth is your parents' or grandparents', not yours.

Religious fanatics - I didn't say ALL religious people, I said FANATICS. In other words, the "holier than thou" types who like to tell everyone else how vile, wicked, and evil they are and then try to "save" them by shoving their pissant dogma down everyone's throats.

People who feel the absolute need to post pictures of their kids on a site with adult content, and then have to gall to bitch about it. I have nothing against posting pics of your kids or your pets, but if you do that, and then complain that people don't rate them a perfect 10, seriously get over it, it's not going to kill you. Besides, why the hell are you posting pics of your kids on a website aimed at adults anyway?

People who use l33t speak - really...is it THAT difficult to communicate in just plain English, or any language for that matter?

PeOpLe wHo WrItE LiKe tHiS...seriously do you have a nervous twitch or something? Typing like a first grader doesn't make you cool, take it from me, you look stupid.

People who hide behind avatars...I don't care for looks all that much, but seriously, posting a bunch of bratz-like animations instead of having the guts to show your face just annoys me. If you really think people will believe you look like that, you're an idiot. Hey I'm ugly I don't care, at least people know who they're talking to. Besides, why do you picture yourself as a caricaturized 14 year old girl/boy? Seems a bit creepy to me...

People who feel they absolutely must have all of the newest toys and technology, no matter what. I have a computer and a cell phone, but I'm not on the verge of suicide just because I don't have an ipod, iphone, or blackberry. Keeping up with the Joneses is too expensive, and fosters a lot of unnecessary competition and resentment among neighbors and people who are supposed to be your family and friends.

This one is aimed at the ladies - girls who show pics of themselves either naked or practically naked, and in spread eagle poses or pretending to be masturbating, and then in their profile they say they hate guys who are only after them for sex and that they aren't objects or pieces of meat...are these bimbos out of their fucking minds or something? Not that it justifies men being pigs, but seriously what do you expect from men aged 15 - 60 when you present yourself like that? That's the nature of men, that's how they think, they are driven by hormones and primal instincts such as sex. Women like that deserve everything they get when they get humped and dumped.

I saved these folks for last, since they REALLY piss me off:

George Bush - Need I say more?

Dick Cheney - See George Bush, only multiply by 100

Sarah Palin - See Bush and Cheney, and multiply by a million

Rush Limbaugh - He's not a racist, he hates all non-whites equally.

Ann Coulter (how she is even given air time is beyond me)

Republicans - Violent, greedy, dogmatic, and selfish is no way to go through life

Democrats - Spineless, wimpy, timid, selling out your beliefs, and always trying to seek everyone's approval is also no way to go through life.

and last but not least, Michael Moore - No, I'm not kidding. It's not that I disagree with him, not at all. In fact, I agree with just about everything he stands for. I even have watched his movies and read his books. What I don't like the way he gets his points across. He is a condescending hypocrite who comes off looking like a kooky tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist who gives honest, hardworking liberals and democratic socialists such as myself a bad name.

So there you have it. I don't take any of this seriously, I don't even know what the hell half of this crap means on this site. But whatever, if you feel you have to leave me a comment, go ahead it's a free country (well at least it used to be), I can't stop you.
