I'm 39 years old. I'm Just your average southern gal, but ridiculously timid. Once I get to know you though, I become more comfortable. I am pretty laid back, reliable, honest and loyal. For the most part, I am fairly quiet and reserved. I'm not perfect, and I don't expect others to be. I always try to be myself and what you see is what you get.
I have a B.S. Degree in Education and am currently working on an degree in Veterinary Technology. I hope to graduate in May of 2010.
My personal relationships are very important me. I enjoy hanging out with friends and family whether it's hanging out around the house, going out for a bite to eat, chatting on the phone or IM (which I probably do entirely too much...lol)I love listening to a variety of music, writing music, laughing and more laughing, playing and watching variety of sports, poker, playing with my pets, going to the movies, cooking, dining out, and traveling. I enjoy the great outdoors and love everything about nature. I enjoy long walks on the beach, the smell of rain, watching storms (although I'm not crazy enough to chase tornados) I love the serenity of mountains and lakes, watching the sunsets and the stars at night, and waking up to sounds of the birds singing in the morning.
I recently lost my best friend and soul mate of 12 years to lung cancer on Feb 1, 2009. He was also my husband. As expected, some days are better than others, but I know with God's help, I will make it through.
I'm not currently looking for any serious relationship. I'm just here to have some fun, chat and meet new people and possibly make some good friends along the way.
What Will Matter By Michael Josephson
Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days. All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear. So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant. Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.
So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?
What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage, or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.
The Dash by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning to the end
He noted that first came the date of her birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own; The cars, the house, the cash, What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough To consider what’s true and real And always try to understand The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read With your life’s actions to rehash Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash?

I like a variety of music and way too much to list them all. I like Pop-Rock, the 80's, Classical, Jazz, Blues, Oldies(60's and 70's) Some Country, but not a lot. I don't care much for rap.

Aside from what's listed above, I'm a huge football nut. Favorite NFL team is the Steelers, and anyone that beats the Dallas Cowboys. Favorite college team is the Georgia Bulldogs.
