My name is Scott Richie. I am 28 years of age; I was born in El Paso, Texas and lived there until I was a year old. My mother and I then moved here to Minnesota where I spent most of my time growing up. The majority of my family lives here as well. My mother remarried and had 3 more children. I have a younger sister and brother as well as an older sister. My mother raised me; my dad was never in my life. It was hard not having a father figure for the sports in school or to just sit and talk about guy things but I made it this far.

I went to kindergarten through the 10th grade at Martin County West. Although I was on the A-B honor roll I hated school like most of the kids I hung out with. I enjoyed working more than going to school so I got a part time job at the local movie theatre and dropped out of school when I was 16 years old.

Some of my hobbies are hiking, watching movies and working out to stay in shape. I enjoy going to the races. I would like to have a car to race sometime in the future. I enjoy working on cars. I also like to go hiking and camp where there is a lake nearby for swimming.

I needed a home for my family. I found a house for sale although I had to move it from its previous location. I bought it and moved it to my town and I have been in the process of remodeling it for four years now. I have put in a new basement, new windows and put vinyl siding on it. I am going to put in new sheetrock and paint the walls later. I am a single father of two wonderful children. I have a three-year-old daughter named Paige and a five-year-old son named Chandler who has lived with me for two years now. My daughter lives with her mother. I always dreamed of having the perfect family where both parents are there for our children and everyone is happy but as I sit now with my son I realize life is not always perfect. One day I would like to have the all American dream home, my house, a good woman and my kids.

I have done construction work for the past ten years, but last year I tore a disk in my lower back. My doctor recommended that I find a secondary profession that would allow me to work with my injury. I decided to go to college and try a profession in the criminal justice system since I enjoy helping other people. I especially enjoy helping kids. I am the first of my siblings to enter college and although I'm not positive what area of criminal justice I will pursue I'm sure I will figure it out as I go.
