Not so much "about me" as a video I enjoy each year and love to share with anyone who may not have seen it.

The house in the photo is in Ohio and several years back the owner choreographed the lights to Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Wizard in Winter." It is real - just low quality from being uploaded to youtube. If you enjoy the music a second holiday work follows by Trans-Siberian Orchestra as well :) Enjoy - and may your 2009 finish with prosperity and your 2010 begin with hope and promise :)

"Christmas Eve/Sarajevo" a fabulous rearrangement of "Carol of the Bells." Well to me anyway :)

"What in heaven's name am I doing?" Hell, if only I had the answer to that...

Just here to catch up with friends etc. No personal photos or really any personal info here. This is all for fun. Y'all probably have enough other friends IRL (in real life) - I'm just hanging here in the web as a leisure activity.

Some simple facts I'm willing to disclose :)

I am married, employed, of age, and the proud owner of a miniature poodle.

~~Jawaharlal Nehru

Thanks for visiting my page, and play well!

About me on FUBAR:

I love making lolcats/catmacros and most recently those parodies of inspirational posters. I post them everywhere...

This is my favorite of the posters :P (its a knockoff of one for MMORPG - feel free to rip it's in my album)...

Photobucket

Got bored and knocked off another one inspired by a MUMM...

Photobucket

I spend a fair amount of time in the MUMMs. I love the discussions and advice sharing. I love funny comments. I'm not a fan of venomous behavior - but such is the way the MUMMs are.

I generally post lolcats/catmacros. My penchant for this lead to Illusion making my very own mark for the MUMMs :) Thank you again Illusion :)

Most of my friends I met in the MUMMs or by returning rates for photos. They are a good lot and if you want to meet some cool people by all means go through my friends list :)

In "real" life:

Well - I generally think of myself as pretty happy:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I love to read...
The Hunt for Red October, LOTR, The Hobbit,Sun Tzu's The Art of War, Steppenwolf, Siddartha, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Dilbert Principle, The Hitchhikers Guide trilogy, Fish, Lila, Illusions, Jonathan Livingston Seagull...

I like movies - and watch them more avidly the older I get. I like utterly ridiculous ones and deeply intimate ones - these are a few of my favorites for one reason or another:

Pay it Forward, Serendipity, The Lakehouse, Strange Brew, The Bucket List, Serendipity, Bridget Jones' Diary, The Fifth Element, The Shawshank Redemption, Second-hand Lions, A River Runs Through It, The Matrix Trilogy, LOTR, The Hunt for Red October, Office Space, Legends of the Fall, Willow, The Princess Bride, Wanted, P.S. I Love You, Good Will Hunting, The Bourne Trilogy, Definitely Maybe, ...

This is frequently mis-posted on the web (usually with an Irish Proverb at the conclusion) but I finally tracked down the original and have credited the appropriate author. Its a great poem - and food for thought.

Now if only I can quit waiting...

Happiness

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire. The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?

Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that time waits for no one...
So stop waiting...

until you finish school,

until you go back to school,

until you lose ten pounds,

until you gain ten pounds,

until you have kids,

until your kids leave the house,

until you start work,

until you retire,

until you get married,

until you get divorced,

until Friday night,

until Sunday morning,

until you get a new car or home,

until your car or home is paid off,

until spring,

until summer,

until fall,

until winter,

until you are off welfare,

until the first or fifteenth,

until your song comes on,

until you've had a drink,

until you've sobered up,

until you die,

until you are born again

So stop waiting...
to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy.

I am a fan of Wile E among others. This video has a couple of interesting dimensions for those Wile E fans. It was made after Depatie - Freiling purchased the rights to Looney Toons. Wile E talks in this one and so do the two children watching him on TV... I love the philosophy they share (its about 1:20 into the segment).

Enjoy :)

And another talkie with Wile E "Roadrunner a Go Go" - thank you Sexysuze for the find :)

I have a lot of interests and a diverse collection of tracks and artists. There is little I don't like in the line of genres although I clearly like some better than others.

Much of what I listen to reflects who I am (or aspire to be). A lot, of course, just is stuff I like or reflects my mood.

What follows are some of my favorites that mean something to me for one reason or another :)

For those who are interested in my tastes my two favorite categories of music are currently Symphonic (or Orchestral) Metal (I also like some goth and power metal for the same reasons). The other favorite is techno-dance although so much of it is remixed/covered I'll not fill space here. As for my Metal tastes both the intense all-out performances and the ballads appeal to me. A partial list of artists follow:

Within Temptation, Nightwish, Epica, Silentia, Edenbridge, Passionworks, Lacuna Coil, Angtoria, Great Northern (love their ballads), Red (Christian Themed and, like many Christian bands - the lyrics can be read secularly as well), In This Moment, The Birthday Massacre, Anti-M, Mortal Love, Delain, Visions of Atlantis, and others...

In the event you may be wondering how I listen to such obscure music - the answer is Pandora www.pandora.com I've got a slew of stations to hunt down artists I like. I'm finding my tastes deviate from "pop" and mainstream music more the older I get. Pandora or Slacker or any number of other similar engines are great ways to learn about related sounds, themes, etc. in music :) I highly recommend them :)

I am a big fan of philosophy, ethics, metaphysics, research, etc. I am thwarted by myself or life as often as I succeed. And that is probably the appeal of Wile E to me.

The goal for me is to be better over time. Well, at least better by my own standards anyway. The Nehru quote and "Happiness" poem above capture my approach pretty well. Taking risks is always a challenge. One just has to be ready to do it :)

This used to hang in my kitchen as a child and sums my approach to life pretty well :)

Photobucket

It reminds me of the premise in Pay It Forward although I never thought of it as creating "big change"

Pay it forward Pictures, Images and Photos

In any case. I see my life as a journey. I see it as a verb - a doing, not a "thing." Actually Dupree in "You Me and Dupree" makes a similar observation with "-ness" in his life philosophy.

I think it is worth it to see myself in that way. I don't think the human condition or personality is static. I see it as dynamic, growing, changing, and able to be directed at worthy aspirations if one is willing to try.

Thanks for reading :)
