Every year we're given the opportunity to reflect.... to take the best of what we've discovered and weave it in to our hearts and souls, before we take the next step in our journey. The fabric of our souls is strengthened with encouragement, friendship, love and determination, tempering the sorrow and trials we've endured, and providing the warmth and comfort to carry us through......

May this coming year bring you adventure.... a place in your soul you haven't discovered... moments that take your breath away in wonder... the wisdom to appreciate what you've been blessed with... the willingness to take those blessings and share something in your life that makes a difference in someone else's (always pay it forward)... the courage to face each day knowing that you can take at least one step towards where you want to be... and the determination to never let setbacks drain your confidence and will... be who you are.. not who you believe others perceive... never surrender your dreams...

This year has been such a year of challenge for so many people I love - physically, financially, emotionally, and mentally. The past 2 months have taught me so much, as I watch a child I love hope he can walk again after being shot 3 times, a young woman fight against a debiltating disease, a friend deal with the news that her husband won't win a battle with cancer, and an injured mother and employee/friend. I've learned about hope and strength and loss and determination. Every few days saw a new crisis. But there is strength and hope... from those who love me... from the inspiration of those challenged.. and from inside my own soul..

What I hope for this season for those in my heart is the ability to give joy, comfort, strength, support, peace, smiles and balance. There is no more precious gift than love and friendship. It's not the material things.. they are temporal.. they serve a short purpose... but the gifts of the heart... the investment of time, an ear, a shoulder, a touch, of gentle strength and compassion mark a permanent place.

Give without expectation. Dream without reservation. Hope with determination. Love with no conditions.

I wish for all my friends those things which fulfill their hearts. The guidance of the One above and the shelter of his arms. The touch of another soul who understands or is willing to try. The comfort of knowing you can do all things...

Peace this season. Give of yourself. Your reward is in the smile of the recipient.
