I just came across something that really pisses me off. Why is it that some, not all, people who join the military do it just because it is something to do, or for the money, or their friends are doing that also, or just to get a college education?!
My father served during WWII and instilled in me patriotism. He was proud to serve his country and he did it because he wanted to. He knew that he was putting his life on the line, he knew he could die at any moment, but he proudly served his country!
What pisses me off is the ones who join the military and then decides that it is not for them. Did you not think! Did you not put a lot of thought into what you were getting ready to do for the next several years?! Did you not realize that this was a commitment?!
I feel that there are some people in the world who don't stop to consider the consequences of their actions. They don't realize that what they do today will affect them tomorrow, the next day, next week, next month, next year, and even many years into the future. Some just do not stop and think, especially for serious commitments, like joining the military. I just want to know...Why? Why do you feel that you can make an important decision and not take it seriously?
There are some things that people do that I may never understand. And there are things that people do I don't want to understand. Not every one may share my views, and I don't expect my opinion to be shared by everyone, but this is my opinion on this particular subject. Thanks for letting me vent.
