| Italian blooded, born and raised. Now on holidays we are pretty traditional with meals as everybody else except for Christmas. I've waited all my life to get my Great, great Grandmother and Grandfathers Family Spaghetti sauce recipes. He is from Italy and she from Sicily. They met on a holiday and made Christmas their holiday to have both sauces for the family for all of their 65 years married. This was passed down and now to me as of last Christmas. The recipes are ingredients, its the technique and timing when the ingredients need to be added. It takes 3, 7-8 hour days to make these sauces from raw and they will yield around 4 gallons of sauce per recipe. I really want to impress my Mother this year with these this Christmas. Should I attempt this, this year for the Family or make it with her again this year to make sure I'm exact and refined it well. (They do cost about $120 for each batch of sauce) |
