Frustration brews as I must once more continue to wait for the other state to contact mine about the outcome of my hearing on March 29th.It apparently takes a lot of time for everything to get signed, sealed and delivered.
For those of you unaware of what I am talking about here is the basic.I requested a modification to my child support order about 4 1/2 years ago.It finally went to court on March 29th of this year.The hearing was held in my ex husbands state where he resides.He was present for the hearing and I was not.I had a lawyer that was hired by his state to represent me and my children.
I've been sitting on pins and needles trying to find out the outcome.I'm avoiding talking to my ex and have limited the amount of time my children are to be on the phone with him due to concerns of outlash from him to them.
( my ex husband is not the most stable of people as he once tried to prove me an unfit mother because I was in the welfare system)
I do not want my children caught in maelstrom of hatred from their father because I was the one who pushed this issue this far.I'm avoiding talking to him myself for the same reason.. I don't want to walk into a situation where I am not armed with the proper information.I'm anxiously awaiting news and praying that for now I can do the best thing to keep my children and I safe from any outlash that may come from this.
My ex won't tell me anything unless he yells at me and even then there is no guarentee that he would be telling the truth.So once more I have the govenors office involved and am trying to get answers.I may just start getting politically involved in this particular issues as it is not fair to the parents that cannot make it to a court hearing of this maginitude or importance.I'm having to wait a full 30 days before I get word on anything and I'm trying to force the govenors office into getting me an answer now.I was the one who did take this govenors office last year during election season to get this even into the court system.Noone wants this going to the press but the longer I have to wait... for anything to get done... the more I am tempted to find a news agency willing to hear me out.
This is something that needs to be looked at by the damn politicians.There needs to be a fairness to those like me who had to wait so long for this to happen and are waiting even longer to get the results.There needs to be a fairness to the children that are involved as well.
I'm already an advocate for children of special needs.. why would this be any different.I'll find a way to get this done and find someone willing to listen to how we need to fix the system.
Ok enough of this rant for now I suppose.Thank you for the support and the love.It has meant a great deal to me and my children and I cannot thank you all enough.Maybe once my emotions and thoughts have settled a bit more I can really go into depth about this topic and explain these things in better detail.Just thought I'd type this up as an update for everyone.
