During my work travels this Friday. I witness first hand the last ride of a fallen American hero. I was getting on a major freeway in North Dallas. Just sitting on an over pass. I noticed a firetruck lights going, a police car lights going, and a motorcycle cop. They where just standing there looking at the oncoming traffic. This seemed unusual to me but not really not worthy. Then I came to the next over pass and there was the same thing again. I could see farther up to the next overpass and there was more lights sitting on an over pass. Now I was curious. I didn't even notice how empty the other side of the freeway was of cars.

Then I saw a large procession of motorcycles. Large American flags flowing off the back of them. It was amazing! That was short lived because then I saw the smattering of red flags mixed with the American flags. The red flags where emblazoned with large white letters K I A. It took a second for the meaning to register with me as I was so taken with the sight. I then quickly pulled over to the shoulder and stopped in respect for the fallen solder and his family. As I was stopping I saw the Black Hurts come into view. Surrounded by Motorcycle cops on all sides. Followed closely by the family. So many cars followed behind them as to make one think that that the freeway was open again. Only the headlights being on and the flashers gave evidence that these people where in attendance of the funeral. I saw other motorcycle cops zipping threw the funeral traffic closing the on ramps and working to keep the procession together. Not an easy task for the cops. As it went back for as far as I could see three lanes wide. Must have been well over a mile long, maybe over 2. I thought for sure that some people not with the funeral must be mixed in with the funeral procession. Was relieved when I saw the end and 6 cop cars lights a blaze blocking all lanes of traffic. Not because I could get moving again but because no one had  mistakenly gotten mixed in.
