ANN ARBOR, Mich. Mike Wallace Steelers Jersey . -- Michigan started preseason practice without suspended players Fitz Toussaint and Frank Clark, and with coach Brady Hoke giving no hint on when either would return. Toussaint, the starting tailback, was arrested for drunken driving. Clark, a defensive end, was charged with second-degree home invasion. "Thats a decision that has to be made down the road, and I dont know when that will be," Hoke said. "Right now, well focus on the guys that are out there." Hoke announced Monday both will remain off the field for the indefinitely. The Wolverines open the season against Alabama on Sept. 1 in Texas. Wide receiver Jerald Robinson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour destruction of property charge Monday morning in Ann Arbor, but took part in the afternoon workout. Hoke said that Robinsons punishment had concluded. Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson said that he knows how badly Toussaint wants to be reinstated. "Ive been talking to Fitz, and he wants to be out on the field with us," Robinson said. "Its the first day of practice, and weve all been waiting for this. He wants to be out there just as bad as the rest of us, but right now he cant be." Hoke said that hes not concerned about Toussaint and Clark missing practice time, because of their experience in his system last season. "They played a lot of football for us last year," he said. "They will be fine." Hoke was happy to be back at work. His team is the favourite in the Big Tens Legends Division, although they will be severely tested in the opener against the defending national champion Crimson Tide. "Today was our first day with a new football team, and thats always going to be fun," he said. "There was some excitement out there today, but there was also some chippiness, and thats what we want to see. Were going to put these players under stress, because we want Saturdays to be easy for them." Hoke also acknowledged that, even though his team didnt wear pads for the first day of practice, he was pleased to see some contact. "These are football players, and when theyve got a helmet on, they are going to run into each other a bit," he said. "We want to have a physical football team, but we also want a tough team, both mentally and physically. We need to have the confidence to play fast, and thats what were seeing." Brown tied an NHL record Friday with two short-handed goals in one playoff game as the Kings beat the Canucks 4-2 in the second game of their Western Conference quarter-final series Friday night. Jonathan Dwyer Jersey . You can watch the game on TSN at 8pm et/5pm pt. The Raptors picked up their first win of the season on Sunday, a 105-86 drubbing of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Cacau struggled in his Bundesliga club Stuttgart and was mostly coming off the bench during the season. He was in the Germany squad at the World Cup in South Africa two years ago. Antonio Brown White Jersey . He got it anyway. Rios tripled home the go-ahead run in the 10th inning and the Chicago White Sox beat the Cleveland Indians 5-3 Tuesday night. Antonio Brown Camo Jersey . - Dallas Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins still hasnt been cleared to practice with his surgically repaired right shoulder.(Sports Network) - An unsuccessful field goal attempt left the New England Patriots with a gut-wrenching loss last week and a feeling of immense frustration afterward. Its something the Baltimore Ravens can certainly relate to. The two AFC powerhouses go toe-to-toe for the first time since last seasons memorable conference title game in a Week 3 headliner from M&T Bank Stadium . And although the stakes wont be quite as high this time around, theres still a sense of urgency on both sides based on the most recent results of each team. Catch all the action starting at 7pm et/4pm pt on TSN. New England and Baltimore fought to the wire in this past Januarys AFC Championship, with the Patriots punching their ticket to Super Bowl XLVI after surviving a 23-20 nail-biter best remembered for Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff misfiring on a 32-yard field goal try in the final seconds. The Patriots received an ironic dose of comeuppance in their first appearance at Gillette Stadium since that contest, with the usually reliable Stephen Gostkowski pulling a 42-yard effort wide left with one second remaining in last weeks matchup with Arizona. The failed kick enabled the Cardinals to come away with a stunning 20-18 triumph and hand the reigning AFC title- holders only the second loss in their last 37 regular-season home games in which quarterback Tom Brady has been a part of. The defeat became doubly painful for New England with the news that valuable tight end Aaron Hernandez sustained a serious ankle sprain that could reportedly keep the versatile Pro Bowl honoree out for as much as six weeks. "Hes a great player," Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker said of Hernandez. "He makes so many plays for us and hes really come into this training camp and really done really well. Hes a really tough guy to match up against, and I think everybody across the board has got to pick up the slack and make some plays out there in his place." Baltimore is dealing with both a significant injury and a difficult loss of its own. In their second outing without reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Terrell Suggs, the Ravens squandered a 10-point halftime lead and faltered down the sstretch in a narrow 24-23 setback at Philadelphia in Week 2. Larry Foote Jersey. A usually stout Baltimore defense gave up 486 total yards to the Eagles, 70 of which came on a go-ahead drive capped by a Michael Vick touchdown run with 1;55 left to play. The unit still appears to be in the process of adjusting to the absence of Suggs, who tallied 14 sacks and seven forced fumbles last season and wont be available until at least November while recovering from a partial Achilles tendon tear. "We have a lot of new faces in our front seven," said Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata. "Were just trying to get used to each other. It definitely is a work in progress. Once we continue to gel more, I think well seem more dominant." Cundiff, released by Baltimore during the preseason, has so far been easier to replace. Undrafted rookie Justin Tucker has connected on all six of his field goal attempts through the first six games, all of which have been from 40 yards or beyond, and made good on both a 51-yarder and a 56-yarder against the Eagles. Baltimore did intercept Brady twice in last winters playoff tilt, and should have its chances of exacting revenge enhanced by Sundays game taking place at M&T Bank Stadium, where the Ravens have prevailed in 11 consecutive bouts and 19 of their last 20 tests including the postseason. Baltimore rolled to a 44-13 destruction of 2011 playoff entrant Cincinnati in its 2012 home opener on Sept. 10. "I think we have a pretty tough environment to play in," said Ravens running back Ray Rice. "Im sure our fans will be rocking and rolling Sunday night." Baltimore also hasnt been bested in consecutive weeks since a three-game skid in October of 2009, having gone 13-0 following a loss after that slide. The Ravens have never beaten New England in six all-time regular-season clashes between the clubs, however, though they did hand the Pats a 33-14 loss in Foxborough during the 2009 AFC Playoffs. New England enters Sundays showdown attempting to avoid its first 1-2 start since head coach Bill Belichicks second season at the helm in 2001, while the Ravens havent dropped two of their first three games since 2005.
