Today I made a flippant, offhand remark.
"A better question to ask is, are there any legal Americans in Texas anymore"
It was a joke aimed at a woman asking if there were any nice guys left in Texas.
In my shout box, a woman of Latino decent, reprimanded me, and claimed my joke was racist and Anti Mexican. Apparently ANY mention of "illegal aliens" is a slight against Mexicans who are here legally. Being from Maine, I didnt know this, we actually have white folks around here picking crops, digging ditches, and other labor intensive jobs that the rest of America, and Mexico , claim that Americans are no longer willing to do. I didnt apologize to her,, because A.) she was WICKED cute,, and,
B.) it wasn't a racist remark.
When we changed the subject we got along SO good. She's on my friends list now,, but the reason I bring it up is because the points she made MIGHT be valid in other parts of the country.
WE don't OWE the poor people of the WORLD a free lunch ticket, because their Governments are stealing all their countries money and resources. THAT'S what Neighbors are for.
