We, the people, it has a nice ring. It was what our forefathers thought too. They fought a war over those words, and now we fight a war over those three words too.
The war has been going on in one form or another for many years, but the real fight started September 11, 2001. Do you remember what you were doing at that exact moment? I do, I was just waking up, and my wife and kids were just leaving for school and work. I stood in front of my church and told them how I felt, what I felt, and what I did right after the two towers fell. The most prominent thing I did was to go to the sitters and hug my girl for a very long time. I knew the real war was about to begin. If I only knew how right I was.
First we did what was right as a nation and attacked those who attacked us; we are still engaged in that war. And it will go on for a very long time.
Now we as Christians and believers of our Loving GOD are under attack also. This attack has been going on for years, we as Christians have been told to be tolerant and not to push our beliefs or religion on others. But what has that got us?
The Ten Commandments and verses from the bible are all over the buildings of our government. Our forefathers formed this nation with GOD being a part of it. They wanted separation of church and state to be; the government was not the church and the church was not the government. But they were to coexist and be there for each other, support for the other when it was needed. They did not intend for a complete and permanent separation.
We lost prayer from our schools because of one woman. Where is she now?
Recently a court house lost a simple block of stone with the ten rules of God’s law, the law that our countries laws are based on. A judge lost his job because he stood up for what he believed in. Where were we, the GOD fearing and GOD loving people, of America, when he needed our help?
I’ll tell you where we were, sitting in our own little part of the world thinking, this won’t effect us. Well it will soon enough.
Now people want to take the word God out of the pledge. Are we going to stand up and fight this? I would say not, because we sit back and say, this does not affect us.
There is a large movement going on in America today, will we stop it? Not if we sit on our butts and do nothing. This movement is the same sex marriage. It is spoken of in the Bible. It is against Gods law, and yet we as Christians are suppose to be tolerant of others, and not push our life style on other people. BUT!!!! What are the people who want same sax marriages doing to us as a nation? They are pushing their life style on us. Is that right, shouldn’t they also be tolerant?
We also have to watch how we treat other religions. Why aren’t they watching how they treat us? This country was built to allow all people and religions to coexist together, meld into a country where we treat every religion equal.
We need to take back our freedoms that we enjoyed, freedom of speech and freedom of religion. That is what we need to do; we need to let people know we will push back.
We want prayer back in school. You can call it a time of silence, which will allow for every religion to pray in their own way, to whom ever they pray to. And no one is offended because we said a prayer to our Father.
We want the Ten Commandments back in school and in the courts where it has been removed. The Ten Commandments are an historical document. Therefore it has a right to be in public.
We want marriage to be defined as one Man to one Woman. Because as the sayings goes, and I am sure it gets old with all of us, but God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
So what should we do about these problems? It is up to you, but I say stand up as one and take back our rights to believe and worship as we choose. And stand and fight to keep all the freedoms we have.
And never forget all those who died to give us these rights, and don’t forget those who are still fighting for you to keep these rights.
