Can somebody, anybody, please explain this to me... What the hell happened to Halloween and Trick-or-Treating?! While I was handing out candy to kids this year, I really realized something. This holiday is entirely different than I ever remember it being.
I used go out when it was dark for what seemed like hours and then come home and shove candy in my face while watching horror movies on TV. What is up with this trick-or-treating in the afternoon. I know that some places in the country still do it at night, but it's been in the afternoon here for years. And come on, 3-6 pm? Is that even as long as it used to be? I know it's supposed to keep kids safer and shit, but if parents would spend the time taking their kids out while they begged strangers for candy, would that really be an issue? Come on and just be parents. You're ruining it for the kids! But at least there's an abundance of horror movies on the channels now, so one thing hasn't changed.
Looking around my neighborhood I noticed that hardly any houses were handing out candy. Why the hell is that? This is a kid's holiday (or at least a kid at heart's). Nobody can tell me they don't remember how much fun they had at Halloween. And speaking of a kid's holiday, what about those lazy fucks who just want free candy?! If you are 16 or 17, you are WAY too old for trick-or-treating. Go hang out with your friends. And then they decide not even dress up! Come the fuck on dude! Seriously. I'm thinking I may go out and trick-or-treat next year at this rate. Hell, everyone else is ruining it, so why not me.
And why can't they trick-or-treat on Halloween? Cause it's a school night? Trick-or-treat from 5-9 pm. Problem solved I'm thinking. If you're a parent, just do me a favor please. Let your kids enjoy this holiday like you used to. It's fun and harmless and means free candy for all. And if you cry religious belifs, you need to be slapped. Just like Christmas, Halloween's original meaning has gone straight out the window, so just love it for what it is... Well, was.
Final note... Everybody congratulate me. One week of going to the gym, not smoking, and eating a little better has helped me lose 10 pounds. I ROCK! LOL. But I'm sure I put some of that back on tonight with the leftover candy we had since less kids seem to trick-or-treat too.
