a dedication to "the ladies"
once again i just finished watching a movie...yeah it was another of what my son in law
would call a "chick flick"...for some reason...if they are about real life...not the goofy ones
i seem to enjoy them and i think it's all because i love women as a whole...everything
about them is a pleasure...they have grace...independence...social skills and what
about us guys...lol...we sit around picking...ok enough of that crap...on with the story...
the movie was entitled "In The Land Of Women" and it really shocked me....first off...
my girl Meg Ryan plays a character in it to the tee and Adam Brody (i believe) was
the young male lead...he comes from L.A. after his actress girl dumps him...he is a
writer...right off i liked it there...lol...only 26 years old and dumped he decided to go
to Michigan to live with his granma. she is none other then Olympus Dycockas...
granma is on meds...some kind of depression meds and she is convinced she will
die very soon...her granson shows up at her doorstep and he (nor could i) believe
the filth she was living in...she hasn't eaten in days...looks terrible and is very cranky
and not afraid to tell anyone off...lol...long story short...her granson cleans up the
place for her and during one of his walks outside one day...meets Meg...become pals
and the part that shook me most (well 2 parts) was when Meg finds out she has
breast cancer...they have to operate and do the "M" thing...can't think to spell thru
tears right now...anyway...Meg tells Adam that her hubby has been cheating on her
and they have their secrets...then Meg goes thru hell when she has what is known as
"Neutropenic Fever" which is when the white blood cells drop below normal and there
is a very good chance of infection and possibly death..this is caused by the chemo...
luckily Megs oldest daughter walks in the door and finds her on the floor puking from
the chemo therapy....the daughter tries to reach her dad but he just so happens to not
be there...she some how gets her mom to the hospital and then the dad walks in just as
the nurse is telling them this...in the meantime the 26 yr old across the street keeps
calling his "ex" and she is "wasted"....the ending i will not give away because it
is very dramatic and i felt as if it was happening to me...again....all over once more !!!
i'm writing this and dedicating it to all women...whether you are my friend or not...
to the few i had the pleasure of knowing and who passed away from breast cancer
and to hope for all the rest and God bless !!!
@thru her eyes
i have seen the beauty of a woman
i have seen it as it was drained
once a young and beautiful blossom
now the petals have turned colors
and they fall so tenderly to the ground
once the warmth of her heart
now there's cold from inside
there was love deep inside
show me once more w
here your love resides
smile a smile that means the world
show one more time the grace
let's see the twinkle in your eyes
let's see the beauty on your face
let me hold the hands that held me
hold you tight as you did at night
never once thought of yourself
the beauty all the time wasn't in your face
the beauty was from your soul
let me hold you as you let go
